When you arrive in Junin de los Andes, you realise that there are simply loads of places to stay but very few are listed on Booking.com perhaps because it doesn't have the international traveller draw that its nearby neighbour, San Martin does. However we were attending the 'Rural' ( a sort of local Gaucho/rodeo show) so we wanted somewhere not too far away.
We thought we'd booked a 'cabana' (which is huge thing in Chile) but when we arrived were shown to an upstairs room with a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. To be honest, I think that we'd have really lucked out if we'd been allocated one of the larger cabanas for the price we paid (about £57) but the description did talk about an outside patio and barbecue etc, none of which we had. However the room was clean, well air conditioned and was convenient for us. Dinner at La Ruca was excellent too! There was a simple breakfast in the morning which was nice although the earlier diners had dived into it with vigour, the pastries etc were soon replenished.
Fully furnished bungalows with surrounded by gardens are offered in Junin de los Andes. Bungalows feature mountain views and individual BBQ facilities. Chapelco Ski Centre is 40 km away.

The hotel is beautiful, even though a little far from the city. Good breakfast but with few options.
I had dinner twice in the restaurant and once dish was superb (tenderloin) but the other was not good (the steak). It looked like two different restaurants made the dishes.

Cosy, clean apartment as described. Location is great for walking to the main square and the river but nice and quiet. Check-in and check-out friendly and easy. Todo bien!
This is a fantastic place for a variety of tourists, families as well as couples. The river is just outside, with possibilities for fishing trout, swimming, or strolling along the river bank. The surroundings are very beautiful, great for trekking. The apartment is extremely comfortable and has nice views, the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. I warmly recommend this lodging!
