Featuring a spa centre and hot spring bath, Kazaguruma (Kazeya Group) Nakao Hotel is located in Takayama. Free WiFi is offered throughout the property. Loved the location, the staff were friendly, the onsen in the room was a real treat. So quiet and relaxing looking out at the mountains in the distance. I was there for the fly fishing and the river was really close by (5 minutes by car). The included breakfast was excellent (Japanese-style one day, western the next), and the optional dinners were also good value for money and delicious.

Located in Okuhida Onsen Village among the Japanese Alps, Hodakaso Yamano Hotel features 7 public hot-spring baths and a fireplace lounge. Rooms offer beautiful mountain views and a private bathroom. Everything is good! The room is very clean, onsen are very big with nice scenery. Meal also very nice!

Minshuku Takizawa is situated a 70-minute drive from Takayama City. Free private parking is available on site.

Renovated in 2014, Kazeya overlooks the majestic Hida mountain range, and offers public and private hot spring-baths. Food, Accommodation and staff are wonderful. The property and nearby area are exceptionally beautiful. If you enjoy a remote setting and in a traditional Ryokan Onsen, this is a must stay.

Offering rooms with heated tatami (woven-straw) flooring, a private hot-spring bath and a balcony with nature views, the completely non-smoking Yukimurasaki is a minute's walk from Shinhotaka... Best food we had in Japan. Amazing view and private onsen.

Located in Takayama and only 48 km from Takayama Station, Hakuunsou provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The onsen was amazing with a few options if you wanted something outside or indoors. The hostess was extremely helpful and friendly, and cooked great meals. The decor is fantastic and was everything I had hoped for when coming to Japan.
