I haven't been to Umdloti for nearly 15 years, the change is...
I haven't been to Umdloti for nearly 15 years, the change is drastic. It's a lot more polluted on the beach which was sad to sea. Also a lot more built up and touristy. But the new restaurants and cafe's are nice with Tasca Pizza being a stand out meal for me (bonus is they do delivery in Umdloti for most days) and the tidal pool really is lovely for swimming and family fun. It's easy to walk around Umdloti, parking is scarce so walking is recommended. I'd avoid the south beach on my next visit. I did struggle to find a good cup of coffee :(

The place is nice even though there is lot of construction along the area, it is acceptable. what is missing around the area is restaurants, we are forced to eat at places we don't prefer as there is not much choice to choose from. the area is close to beach and little bit of care from municipality is missing.

It was tranquil, but far from shops and the pathway to the beach is through a forest .... not very safe.
The Management at Coral Point are uncouth and very disrespectful.
They have no customer service ethics.

It's an amazing sea front town with a newly built mall...
It's an amazing sea front town with a newly built mall before the nature reserve area. Closer to the beach you will find more smaller shops but ideal for the odds and ends. Parking right along Beach road, many beaches along the way and lots of "rock pools" along this stretch of the coast.

Beautiful beaches, rock pools and clear skies. Dunes, river area, roads and buildings are still under restoration after the floods of 2023. This makes the town area ugly but the beaches are great. Lots of litter in the streets and some on the beach which is very sad.

This apartment was absolutely spotless and ever so comfortable. It had everything necessary for a wonderful stay. The linen was great and the towels were big and thick, there was a huge TV and excellent Wi-fi. The décor is outstanding with attention to detail, beautifully decorated and fitted out. We had a lovely view of the sea and beach with restaurants and shops a few meters away, a supermarket a short walk away. Everything was just perfect, I give it 10/10 and all thanks to Tereza, the owner who was so accommodating and welcoming and definitely has a flair for perfection. Thank you so much Tereza for letting us stay in this beautiful apartment, we loved it.
This property exceeded my expectations. The facilities were as described. The air cons cooled us down in the heat of Durban. A spacious apartment with breathtaking pool and sea views. A gas bbq equipped on a stylish balcony. There were a variety of TV channels for your leisure. We love Umdloti and this place, and we will definitely be booking Ripple in time again. Fantastic holiday.
The location was lovely, the views amazing, the apartment was neat and clean. The beds were super comfy. The reception staff were friendly and accommodating. Considering that we landed up getting stuck in Umdloti due to the protest actions and riots the owners allowed us to extend our stay for a few additional days until it was safe for us to leave.
Open lounge/kitchen is the best room to spend time in.Everything is as advertised(images).
The beds were very comfortable ,master bedroom was perfect.

Breakfast is ok, could have a bigger variety of fruits. My soft boiled egg was hard, but difficult to get it correctly cooked in SA.
The WIFI in our room was not strong, on previous stays I had better connection.
However, my preferred place to stay in Umdloti!
Very spacious.Umdhloti letting was kind enough to allow us an early check-in and late check-out.the security guards are very friendly and super efficient.Corrie was very welcoming and pleasant and flexible with our arrival and departure times.
Definite value for money for being on the beach. Its a road between the accommodation and the amazing Umdloti beach. The location is incredible. Prime Seaview, within walking distance to the restaurants and shops. Seaviews for days

The apartment was, in many aspects, superior to a 5 star hotel. The hostess was extremely helpful and always easily contactable. The location is divine.....walk out onto the safe beach
