Traditional Cyprus hospitality at its best! The guest house is situated in a beautiful historic building which was once a small monastery. The family who own it are kind and attentive. The rooms are basic but extremely clean. Breakfast was fabulous with fresh preserves, figs straight from the tree and eggs cooked to order.

The host Ali was the best thing about the stay. He is very friendly and attentive.
The beds and even the sofa bed were very comfortable. The breakfast was good too.
I would definitely stay there again.
Golden Beach, which I consider the best beach in Cyprus, is only 20 minutes away.
There are some good restaurants around the area too, for instance Oasis or Alevkayali.

Out of season (January), it is very very quiet and rather cold, with most things closed down in this smaller town (as with most smaller towns in north and south Cyprus late December through February). We should have known this ahead of time, so that's on us. The people were very welcoming and kind. And the landscape and scenery IS gorgeous, as green as you'll get in Cyprus and that likely only happens during these rainy months. Oh, and drive to the tip of the island and bring carrots for the donkeys. It's wild! (p.s. My husband thought it would be great biking weather.)
