Glaro Garden Hotel, hotel in Rizokarpaso

Glaro Garden Hotel has a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Rizokarpaso. This 2-star hotel offers a concierge service.

This is a delightful, peaceful place in keeping with its rural setting. The breakfasts were delicious. The small bungalows are spread around lawns with palm trees, each with its outside sitting area, where some people brought food and drinks and ate alfresco. Murat cooked us kleftico and people brought their own alcoholic drinks to the restaurant. Murat went out of his way to make our stay memorable.

Out of season (January), it is very very quiet and rather cold, with most things closed down in this smaller town (as with most smaller towns in north and south Cyprus late December through February). We should have known this ahead of time, so that's on us. The people were very welcoming and kind. And the landscape and scenery IS gorgeous, as green as you'll get in Cyprus and that likely only happens during these rainy months. Oh, and drive to the tip of the island and bring carrots for the donkeys. It's wild! (p.s. My husband thought it would be great biking weather.)

The Karpaz peninsula is lined with breath-taking beaches. The small cove at 'Sea Bird' beach, just beyond the Apostolos Andreas Monastery and within sight of the very tip of the island (Zafer Burnu) is a must. Take plenty of carrots, carrob and apples to feed the wild donkeys.

It was obvious from the fact that tourists to this area are far less than the ones who go to Kyrenia. But the scenery and beaches make the trip worthwhile. A lot of hire cars were seen so they to make the effort to visit. I have always loved this area and will continue to try to find accommodation that suits me. Avoiding the huge hotels that are starting to emerge now.

Rizokaprazo is the easternmost place of the island of Cyprus. It is a piece of land which stretches, long and thin, and offers both vegetation, beaches and archaeological sites. The beaches and the sea in there are just great, the best in the island.

What this Hotel lacks in Language Barriers is more than made...

What this Hotel lacks in Language Barriers is more than made up in enthusiasm, OK they do not speak English and we do not speak Turkish however we managed, not only to have a fantastic Dinner and Breakfasts, we were invited to join the family in the evening as they broke their Fasting (Ramadan) not only did we join them they were still happy to offer us their food and served Alcohol. The Hotel (Otel) is ideally situated to visit the Pan Handle, Marine Reserves, the Hotel itself is a working farm located on a Nature Reserve and has its own Cattle, Sheep, Chickens, Donkeys, Ducks, Geese, it also has a Monastery on its land. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone, everything about the hotel has its positives, clean, simple. It is the place to base yourself if looking to explore or to relax. · Doesnt have a Pool but Beaches are nearby
