Revaklı Ev Guest House, hotel in Rizokarpaso

Located in Rizokarpaso, Revaklı Ev Guest House features a shared lounge, garden, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. Free parking is available.

The property is a lovely antiquated building with solid stone walls and has the rustic charm and ambience of being off the beaten track. Which is far from reality because it is ideally situated in Rizorpasso and well suited for short and quick travel to both East and West sides of Karpaz. The day we arrived, the village had a power cut, meaning no electricity or Wi-Fi - not a problem at all. Perfect for some candlelit wine and a game of cards (provided by the owners).

Out of season (January), it is very very quiet and rather cold, with most things closed down in this smaller town (as with most smaller towns in north and south Cyprus late December through February). We should have known this ahead of time, so that's on us. The people were very welcoming and kind. And the landscape and scenery IS gorgeous, as green as you'll get in Cyprus and that likely only happens during these rainy months. Oh, and drive to the tip of the island and bring carrots for the donkeys. It's wild! (p.s. My husband thought it would be great biking weather.)

The Karpaz peninsula is lined with breath-taking beaches. The small cove at 'Sea Bird' beach, just beyond the Apostolos Andreas Monastery and within sight of the very tip of the island (Zafer Burnu) is a must. Take plenty of carrots, carrob and apples to feed the wild donkeys.

It was obvious from the fact that tourists to this area are far less than the ones who go to Kyrenia. But the scenery and beaches make the trip worthwhile. A lot of hire cars were seen so they to make the effort to visit. I have always loved this area and will continue to try to find accommodation that suits me. Avoiding the huge hotels that are starting to emerge now.
