Your representation isn’t accurate currently as to what’s really going on. They are under renovation. Didn’t get room I paid for bc things weren’t working. Brought us an extension cord in order to have outlets to use. They had HGTV there and it’s very limited in choices and everything is slapped together at the moment with spit and glue. The people were kind that work there and we had place to ourselves. Only clients. So I’ll not book through your site again bc no one would refund me. Everyone threw the other one under bus. For me that’s very greedy as if I don’t count out my money I work hard for- you deserve despite the false advertising.

We made reservations the previous day ,we got there at 3:45 pm ,,,no one was there 1 truck in the parking lot . We read the note at the office door to call this number, they answered and a man said they were at Lowe’s and would be there in 15 minutes,,as he was talking to us a woman in the back ground was yelling she was NOT going to listen to any more messages,,,She yelled this twice. At 5 :18 a car pulled in next to the office ,,another car pulled in next to our car the Man got out and vomited next to the office patio . The woman and man ,,the managers ,,unlocked the office door and the man left for a next door room ,,The woman presented me with a bill after,,,we told her our name and that we booked the room the previous day and I had all the numbers ,Salter Path 4804819066 Pin 4072 ,,she presented me with a bill for $381. And had the wrong name on it ..I gave her those numbers and she said ,,,I can’t take this anymore??? ,,She said,,Your going to have to leave the office so I can lock up and check this information you gave me on my computer? She said the computer at the office has been down 3 days because of improvements on the motel ,,and She got in her car and left ,,,The other couple just kept walking around ,,not talking to anyone,,The other man manager came out of his room and asked us where she went ? We said she went to find a computer that worked ? Even though they told me the previous day ,,NO REFUND,,,and it was on our American Express,,we left at 5:45 ..and she still was NOT BACK ,,We called American Express and told them we DID NOT EXPECT to pay !

Quiet. Nearby places to eat. Aquarium not too far away.

Quiet. Nearby places to eat. Aquarium not too far away. Uncrowded beach. We ate lunch at the nearby Big Oak Drive In , 3 times. Good burger. Really good barbecue. Very little traffic on the main road. Was after Labor Day , though.

Salter Path was not a real big commercial area.

Salter Path was not a real big commercial area. More laid back and quiet.Had a great sea food meal at the Crab Shack and ice cream at the ice cream shop that was in front of the restaurant. Both places were within walking to my motel, The Salter Path Inn. The North Carolina aquarium and Fort Macon were close by and many public beach areas close. In order to do anything other than being on the beach you had to go north to Atlantic beach or south to Emerald Isl. Much more commercial stuff in both these areas. If you are looking for nice quiet beach time Salter Path is the place to check out.

Be aware of the dinner hour.

Be aware of the dinner hour. I went during the week and 90% of the restaurants closed at 2100. Also, be prepared to eat around 1700 really because the traffic and parking is crazy, even on the weekday. Some places have LEOs directing parking traffic seven days a week. I ate at On The Rocks and it was great. The prices were a little high but on average and lower than some other restaurants. I also ate at The Swansboro Food & Beverage Co. on our first night because it was one of a very few open late and appropriate for families. It was overpriced and not worth it.

The location was quiet and peaceful.

The location was quiet and peaceful. The private path to the beach and rinse off shower was excellent as there was no crowd or parking to deal with. The in-room kitchen made it easy to make our own meals especially walking down the street to the local fresh seafood market for seafood daily. The ladies in the office were very accommodating any time you needed extra towels, a broom or anything else for your stay. Having a Dollar General across the street to walk to was also a plus. We would definitely stay there again.
