I love everything about this property!
This is an amazing family or single place to stay. I feel like it needs more exposure as the grounds are magical with waterfalls on the creek running under the old train car restaurant, meadows for frolicking and or meditating, plenty of room to find privacy to relax and so much more. Come on families let’s show up here and bring back the energy I’m sure was here when people still did this kind of vacation with their kids!
I love the Great Northern Queen in gold country!

Everything. Historic. Beautiful. Welcoming. In addition to usual expectations about cleanliness, location and hospitality (all were great) - to get highest marks from me, it’s all about the bed and the shower. Both were off the charts. Literally the most comfortable bedding I have experienced. The shower was big and lovely. And surprisingly, the fact that there are no TVs in the room was a non issue. Fast Wi-fi is provided.
It’s located right on the main historic street. Great for walking, browsing and eating. Once you are there… no car needed. There’s also a beautiful restaurant and bar in the hotel. This fully renovated, but still authentically historic hotel was a real treat for a romantic weekend getaway.

PIETY HILL:
I stayed for two nights in the “Walnut” cottage in May and found it aesthetically renovated with total functionality. It has a flawless, quiet heating and air conditioning split unit and an ample hot water supply for a long shower if desired.
The ground has plenty of shade, mature trees, and a secluded, peaceful atmosphere. I slept soundly on a thick body-conforming mattress.
The studio was spotless, and the refrigerator was already turned on, which is sometimes not the case in many hotels.
The kitchen had an electric hot water kettle and a coffee maker with coffee, tea, hot cocoa mixed with various sweeteners, half and half, and even salt/pepper grinders. The cutleries were sparse, as mentioned in other reviews, but I brought paper towels and used paper plates to minimize dishwashing volume, although dishwashing liquid is provided.
I was pleasantly surprised that it fitted perfectly with Nevada City's historical theme in a centenarian lodging but with all the modern accommodations.
Two Room Inn is a holiday home with free WiFi throughout the property, set in Nevada City. The property is 3.7 mi from Grass Valley and features views of the garden.

The lady that cleans the toilet tried her best to find what cabins were ours. Everyone else left . When standing at main lodge 3 employees came up and punch out and said they were not going down there. It wasn't their mess.i should have left than but waited another 3 hours and still only had 1 cabin out of three. We left and made the best out of a horrible situation. Someone from Oregon house called the next day to see if we settled in ok. They had no idea that we never was able to get into the cabin we rented.
So horrible, No lake like they advertised, No game room like the photos showed. Nobody access the computers to find our reservations.

Cute cabin. No oven.
Cute cabin. No oven. Futon couch horrible to sit on, let alone sleep on. Heater did not work. Biggest disappointment was the lack of communication. Couldn't get a hold of anyone. Information wasn't easily gotten. I was expecting something different relying on what was depicted online, such as the lake right by the cabin verses what it actually was...the lake was not in view, but a very long walk away; it was campsites primarily for RVs with some tent sites and a few cabins. No cell phone service. If you want to camp, have an RV... its a great place. If you are looking for a resort with accomadations right on the lake, this is not it.
