Very clean hotel, room was roomy just quite expensive... Although I think that equates to the whole of new York.

We were offered the Hotel as a substitute to a facility in Manhattan. We have not seen much from North Bergen. Originally, we expected we would be much closer to New York where we planned our program.
BUT it is quite convenient that there is a large supermarket (Target) and several fast-food restaurant within walking distance.

North Bergen is a safe neighborhood, it was quiet at night. Living in NJ is the best way to visit New York while having a car. Parkings are tough and expensive in NYC downtown. While you can live here paying less and maybe having a free parking for your car. you'll have shuttles coming and going throughout the day which can take you to Times Square for around (3-7$). but if you're visiting just for NY and you want to enjoy every moment of your day, I'll recommend not renting a car and living in the downtown area while everything is within walking distance from you.

We stayed for roughly a week's stay here.
We stayed for roughly a week's stay here. It's a small town, but it has the basics: food stores, dollar stores, and several other businesses. I felt safe walking around in day, and night. We mainly went to New York using public transportation, but North Bergen was a quiet, quaint, small town.

we found multiple roaches in the room, to which we basically got a shrug when we went to the lobby to tell them. above the night stand was missing a light, and there was this faint clicking noise that was constant throughout the entire stay. in addition all of the vending machines were broken and there was only one small cooler full of lukewarm water. elevators smelled weird.

Many guests we spoke to were going on a cruse so used the hotel as a car park and overnight stay not a place for a vacation stay in our opinion, there is nothing to do in walking distance of hotel so would need a car to get around. The place looked too industrial and very run down in the surrounding area, not a place for a family holiday with kids! You will need to be very fit if walking anywhere from hotel as it is on top of a very steep hill. There are no proper resturants nearby to our hotel, there is a bus stop opposite to get to New York. Wont be staying there again because of location but the staff were fantastic at fairfield hotel and suites by Marriott.

If you want to go to NYC from North Bergen the best option...
If you want to go to NYC from North Bergen the best option is taking public transit, about $3.50-5.10 one way. Due to the bridge tolls an Uber will cost about $35-60 one way. Getting TO New York via bus was very easy HOWEVER, taking the bus from the Port Authority Bus Station was extremely confusing. You have to select a bus (even though you usually have multiple buses that can take you to the same stop) and you also have to pick zones but they can change depending on the bus and not the location of your bus stop.
The hotel had amazing accommodation. The room was very clean and check in process was smooth. The location is very convenient if you plan on staying outside of Manhattan as the bus stop was only a couple of minutes away. The bus would run hourly and stopped in Times Square. The commute is not bad at all but it does require some time to get to and from Manhattan. They offered a nice breakfast but there is not much variety. The menu would repeat every other day but it was tasty nonetheless.
Water from our Bathroom, on the third Floor (3-313) was zipping down through the Floor into the Light Fixture on the Appartment of the Seconf Floor (2-313). If anyone would have turned on the light on the second floor bathroom (2-313) whomever of myself or my Grandson qould have ended up electrocuted!!!! This is a mayor issue. We were extremely concern. We will never stay at another "Choice Hotel after this fiasco!!!
good location, good if you're comfortable with driving or walking in urban environments. clean, comfortable, large screen tv in room with direcTV. tvs also support airplay- make sure to turn it off in Samsung TV settings if you don't want your room neighbors trying to connect to your tv by mistake for 20 minutes straight though. has a tv guide, nice as most hotels don't have this
i have only concerned about breakfast ,Before i booked i was looking for breakfast included hotel so i booked this hotel but when i went for the break fast they said they only provide coffee and juice so that was disappointing for me other wise stay was really good nice and clean room comfy bed, proper heating every thing was great.
Rooms are huge and spacious. location of the hotel is great even for those who want to travel to Manhattan by riding a Paterson-Manhattan shuttle for just 3.5 USD per person. It stops within a walking distance from the hotel every 10-15 minutes.
The place is perfect if you go to visit New York. Is not that expensive and you have transportation that goes by every 20 minutes. Transportation costs $4 from the hotel to Manhattan . 3 blocks away from Times Square. Perfect for me.
you get what you paid for
good hotel with very good location near NYC (thanks to the shuttle bus)
with good facilities not fancy but to the needs
(wifi, microwave, daily cleaning, mini fridge and warming system ) so its very good to me
Comfortable and very clean room, spacious and has high ceilings.
Polite staff,
Safe location and nice neighborhood (30 min to the NYC by bus, and the bus station is right in front of the hotel, big plus!)
accommodating when i asked for room on first floor due to an injury. room was spacious and fairly clean. hotel was quiet but the location is terrible and hard to get to
