Weather was uncooperative for most of stay.

Weather was uncooperative for most of stay. Visit to SLO was pleasant enough, sunny but a little humid due to partly cloudy skies; ate lunch on Friday at Guiseppe's Italian Restaurant. They had great homemade bread and pizza! Trip up the coast north of San Simeon earned us considerable fog and overcast skies. Enjoyed a late lunch at sandwich shop in San Simeon on Saturday. Morro Bay itself leant us fog and overcast skies for the most part. A little chilly in the mornings and evenings when I first got there on Thursday. Warmed up more during the weekend. Took a tour of Piedras Blancas Lighthouse: interesting piece of local history with various museums to tour and small gift shop.

    I always enjoy Morro Bay.

I always enjoy Morro Bay. It has the perfect mixture of shops, restaurants, bars, museums, etc. Plus, everyone that lives there is really chill. No snooty people here! Also, make sure you hit the Hofbrau restaurant. Unique and delicious.

Morro Bay is such a quintessential coastal California town!

Morro Bay is such a quintessential coastal California town! There are loads of oceanside restaurants (delicious seafood), old-school candy/ice cream stores and cafes, cute shops. Walking along the coastal path to and around the gorgeous rock, sea otters and sea lions provide loads of entertainment. Terrific sunsets. Stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking opportunities. Great location, allowing for side trips to SLO, Avila Beach, Solvang.

Be careful of what food you order in Morro Bay...the restaurants need to chip in to provide a cleaning service to clean all the restrooms made available to customers, They were filthy and gross with feces and urine. The coffee and pastry shop that was formerly a bank was good. The best food we had was in San Luis Obispo, not Morro Bay.

If traveling with children, do take time to enjoy Morro Bay's Museum of Natural History. Wonderful information about Morro Bay Estuary, presented in variety of ways. Numerous places to dine from causal to elegant. Easy town to get around in except for it's popularity. The Embarcadero area Fun, yet very crowded on weekends and during hot Summer days.
