The room was lovely. We lit a fire and played records while we relaxed outside on the back patio. The outdoor tub is a nice way to enjoy an evening with a glass of wine from the bar!

The architecture and cleanliness of the Highland Resort was superb. Amazing continental breakfast, the gardens, situated within tall redwood trees, you really felt the escape into the woods. Staff was always pleasant and delivered exceptional hospitality towards all guests. Job Well Done!

Dawn Ranch is lovely - the property is situated in a redwood grove and it is deeply soothing to walk around and see these magnificent giants towering over everything. The cabins are darling; compact and efficient with comfy bedding, terrific towels and spa-quality bathroom products (Le Labo). We took advantage of a last-minute upgrade offer and switched to a meadow-facing chalet. A giant redwood was right outside the window....,maybe 9-10 inches away. We could have touched it if we had opened the window but my fear of mosquitos kept it closed! We ended up canceling our anniversary dinner reservation (which was about 30 minutes away) to instead enjoy the beautiful terrace and exceptional cuisine at The Lodge. Guerneville is compact and charming; we walked to get ice cream and coffee the first afternoon and then borrowed the resort's complimentary bicycles to head over to Baked on the River for a delicious breakfast in their riverside garden. Overall, a terrific getaway right here in the greater Bay Area!
This town is really cute, but small. I heard great things about the theater, but wasn't able to stay long enough to enjoy it. If there isn't enough in Monte Rio for you, there is more in Guerneville. I definitely wouldn't recommend visiting either of these places on a Tuesday or Wednesday in the winter, however, as just about nothing is open. We were excited for a romantic getaway at a non-busy time and realized that there was almost nothing to do at this time of the year in the middle of the week.

It's such a cute, teeny little town where the highlight is the public beach where you can rent kayaks, paddle boards, tubes, etc. The Village Inn and Restaurant with its outdoor seating is a real highlight. The burgers are ground each day, along with buns - SO delish!!!
And it's only a five-minute drive to Guerneville, with a Safeway, Subway and several of its own restaurants. No need to break the bank with pricey restaurants and eating out.

An old motel that has seen many, many tourists and must have been a great place in the 1960's for parties, etc. It is a worn and casual place for a couple of days. It is conveniently located for some of the coastal areas around the town like Jenner. It is also convenient for sightseeing the wine areas around Healdsburg from a less expensive motel. There is a trendy bakery across the parking lot that sells good Irish soda bread and cake.

Talked with locals, drug addicts, homeless people have ruined the area.Nice shops, open to all sexual choices if thats acceptable to you. We had dinner on the patio of the Northwoods country club located in same parking lots as hotel, food and service were good. We were only there overnight which was enough

Great getaway, whether was just right, friendly people, classic car show on the weekend we were there, could have used a few more food choices in and around the area, some nice spots up for lease, give me a call if interested in starting one up ,would love to relocate there!
This is a BEAUTIFUL piece of property with a lovely beach on the river. There are lots of flowers and areas to sit and enjoy the scenery. The staff was so lovely and helpful. The hotel and rooms are older and have a rustic vibe. Definitely not the place you want if you are looking for classy hotel vibes. We felt right at home.
Breakfast not included but there was a deli nextdoor that served coffee etc. starting at 0700. High priced - $40 for two coffees and two pieces of bacon and egg quiche. Dinner the night before was at the golf course restaurant - very good and an easy walk.
We loved the hotel but the food in our opinion was overpriced and husbands steak over cooked; and the wine fee was over priced for the amount we got. Will not eat at the Village Inn Rest. again, even if we stay at your hotel.
Location on the river with a dock and kayaks!! Hot tub. Dog friendly!!
Once a grand, old home.
Lots seating places throughout house, Sun porch, and lawn. Well stocked kitchen with dishes, pots, and pans.
property was ok, I really thought I booked the cabin but for some reason I end up in a room. I’m just glad that the hotel is by beautiful nature that makes everything awesome.
There was no Breakfast, however it made no difference in our experience, the ambiance of the Hotel was outstanding. Jay was most accommodating and was a pleasure.
The hotel staff go out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Special thanks to the owner of the hotel, she was very pleasant, businesslike and contact person.
comfy beds and clean room.
staff were super welcoming and arrange a late checkin (7pm)
and the cafe (bia) next door (recommended by the hotel) is fantastic ;)
