Excellent location for birding in the area because it was easy to get to all the local birding sights. Loved sitting on the deck for morning coffee. King bed was comfortable for both a firm bed lover and a soft bed lover. The shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser was convenient. Host was very communicative and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The property was amazing! So close to the beach and super clean! Only issue we has the televisions in the bedrooms (with little makes things really hard) did not allow us to use them at all!

This little gem is well equipped in the kitchen, comfortable beds, big couch and lovely heavy duty patio furniture! We loved the proximity to birding hotspots! And loved being so close to the beach! Local food was great too! Hughstons, and tiajuanitas fish camp were our favorites! Will go again!
Location was super! Rooms were clean, bathroom sink drain was extremely slow, but the bed was just right! In a town of 200 people this motel serves it purpose..nothing fancy and the food at the grill was excellent.
All in all, a great experience.

this motel was in high island. that is different than gilcrist. two separate places. so this doesn't apply. high island is a small town not much there but that's not why you stay there. you want to go on the beach and access for that is good.

We ate at the Ocean Grill, and were very surprised to find the food was excellent. We will be back to eat there again. I love the beach and my husband prefers the bay, so we had the best of both worlds.
