This hotel is in a very bustling and busy tourist area with everything you may need in close proximity. We had everything we needed and more. Very clean and well kept rooms and surroundings. Staff were really helpful checking and out were both very smooth. I would definitely stay here again.

Virtually nothing. They don’t accept credit card because they don’t want to work with bank system. They requested cash at the counter and they show you the location of the withdrawal. Ahahahaha so pathetic and very low level…. Downgrade this hôtel to 0.5 just for the building

The location is perfect and staff very friendly, the room was okay. What I most liked was the room right in the roof top, which was quite nice at night, plenty of fresh air and zero mosquitoes. For full breakfast I suggest the nearby roof top café Bab El Medina. There is a kiosk on the way to the railway station with good pastry and acceptable coffee, this is okay for quick breakfast option and to grab a few snacks for a train journey.

I had a wonderful stay at the Occidental Sousse Hotel. What stood out the most for me was the cleanliness throughout the entire hotel. The staff was incredibly kind and always willing to assist with everything, from the bellboy helping with our bags to the room, to the receptionist and the housekeeping staff.

We really liked the historic part of town - the Ribat is...
We really liked the historic part of town - the Ribat is beautiful (with a great guide!). The archaeology museum is definitely worth a visit. The souk was an enjoyable pace and you didn't feel hassled. The restaurants were good. Taxis were cheap and easy to find.
City could do with a big clean up and shows clear signs of suffering financially, but that didn't take away from our trip.

I found Sousse to be a great place to visit if you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. I was pleased to discover that the local people were friendly and welcoming, which made my trip more enjoyable and memorable.
One of the highlights of my trip was having a hire car, which allowed me to explore the surrounding areas and discover hidden gems such as the castle. It was fascinating to learn that the castle was the location for the popular movie Monty Python's Life of Brian. This made my trip even more exciting and memorable.
However, it's worth noting that if you're looking for a bustling city with lots of activities to do and places to see, Sousse may not be the best choice. From my experience, Sousse is more of a laid-back destination where you can unwind and relax.
Overall, I had a positive experience visiting Sousse and enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas. Thank you for taking the time to read my review!

The area is beautiful.
The area is beautiful. There are so many activities to do there. The transportation system is excellent and very affordable. You can walk almost everywhere really, but if you are lazy like me, you can either use your phone to order a Bolt taxi or just flag one down on the road.

I used Sousse as a base to travel to other parts of Tunisia by train and car. If you wanted a beach / resort hotel to just chill then this would be an excellent choice. If you wanted more exploration of the history and culture then Sousse is a little limited and I think would "do" all the local things in 2/3 days.
the place is beautiful and super clean, right in the middle of the medina. The staff is very kind, friendly and helpful: when we just arrived they offered us drinks (which is much appreciated with the hot weather) and they also left bottles of water at our room. The Air Conditioner works perfectly! and finally: The breakfast is amazing!! they bring to your table a wide range of typical Tunisian things. Highly recommended!
The location is good, close to other beaches and restaurants. The staff although almost only speaking tunisian-arabic, is friendly and tries their best. The receptionist nevertheless was very friendly, competent and helpful.
Basic hotel in Sousse. The bed was comfortable, the employees were very friendly (shout-out to Mohammed), the location was top notch and it was kept extremely clean. Would def. recommend.

The location of the hotel is perfect, walking distance to all touristic places and the train station Sousse Voyageurs. The room was old, but ok, wifi works fine.
