The room was comfortable and functional. Staff members are very well trained: courteous and attentive to details (thank you team cleaning!). Unlike hotels in area Lac1, It's close to where Tunisians actually live. You'll see the smoked filled café, men watching soccer, while also having access to some really nice restaurants. Highly recommended

The location is close to the airport and to the company where i had work to do, but there are not so many things to visit/go to around. The internet connection was good. Breakfast and dinner was also good, even for me( i do not eat spicy food).

by coincidence we travelled during Ramadan and booked room with half board. The iftar meal was the highlight of our visit to Tunisia. Excellent excellent choice of items on buffet, very friendly staff in the dining hall and the cook had the biggest smile in all of Tunisia, lovely reception staff (well versed in english, arabic and french). Mariott was brilliant overall

You must head to the Medina.
You must head to the Medina. It is a maze of narrow streets and packed with shoppers. The stroll in there alone is an experience.
Expect to be pestered a little but just walk on if you don't want to be invited into the little shops to buy something. It's a fun experience.
Try a Brik. It's a fried doughnut which is just delicious and cheap.
The people are generally incredibly friendly and curious but be aware of the odd gentlemen who claims to work night security at your hotel and starts to accompany you around the medina. This happened to me 3 times by 3 different men. They have the same story.

Tunis is a great place to experience Arab culture tempered by French finesse. It is easy to get around the city on foot, tram or taxi. Lots to see and do. It is also not far from other amenities and historic sites.

The medina is an interesting way of spending a couple of hours with a nice cafe above where you can look over Tunis. Taxis are the best way to travel around and there are plenty. Lots of places to eat. I think as a tourist in Tunis you just need to beware of
being ripped off by being over charged at almost every point. Other than that it’s a very interesting place to visit and actually very cheap!!

Tunis can be a gem for a visit in itself and a great starting point for day-trips to other destinations within easy reach. Some caution should always be in order when walking around the city, trying not to stand out like the tourist who has just arrived that very morning and taking care not to show any valuables.
Taxis are great to move around, as they are incredibly cheap, and the drivers are usually honest and helpful.
Do not hesitate to try the food of even some less than glamorous establishments, as you will often find excellent dishes there at a very low cost and with very hospitable hosts.

Tunis is a vibrant city with a rich history dating back to...
Tunis is a vibrant city with a rich history dating back to the 2nd millennium BCE. The city has been controlled by Phoenicians, Romans, Arab Muslims, the Ottomans, the Spanish, the French, and the Germans, finally achieving independence as the capital of Tunisia in 19561. The medina is a network of narrow alleyways, mosques, mausoleums, palaces, and a souq where shoppers haggle over the price of everything from filigreed gold to inexpensive souvenirs1. If you’re looking for places to stay, eat, or things to do in Tunis, you can check out the reviews on Tripadvisor.
I hope this helps!
The rooms were en suites, so there was plenty of space to relax and be comfortable in. We stayed twice at Le Corail, before and after our trip out of Tunis to other cities and the desert in Tunisia. We were very happy with the rooms on both times. They were a breath of fresh air compared to the other hotels we stayed in both in Tunis and the other cities. They were clean and the staff were very welcoming. There were cooking facilities but we did not use them, only the kettle. Breakfast was a good spread of foods. Very happy with that
Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Not to mention the delicious breakfast we had with a very good view of the lake. My wife was pregnant, and the chef was very helpful by preparing plates and delivering it to our table as well as bringing stuff before we even thought of it (and that's the reason I'm always booking with you guys when I come to Tunis). The last thing I'd like to mention is that the hotel is located on a superb site, next to various restaurants & cafes . Thank you, and Happy EID!!!👌🙂
The hotel is in a great position to visit the Medina; everything was clean, beautiful and very confortable.
Breakfast was plentiful and good. The staff was exceptional: everyone made us feel like home. We had dinner at the restaurant on the panoramic terrace twice because we loved it! A special mention to chef majid: he talked in perfect Italian and helped us in countless ways. They also arrange an early breakfast at 5 am because we had an early flight. If you are in Tunisi, you must stay here!
The hosts were very welcoming and lovely. We got on with them like our family. The train station (Tunis marine) is a 10-15 min walk and the train goes to tourist and scenic destinations like Carthage and Sidi bou said. There is also a direct coach to hammamet from the nearby coach station bab alioua. I would reccomend you to stay in this hotel to explore Tunis as well as other nearby cities like sousse and hammamet in Tunisia. I would visit again as the hospitality was great. Thank you
Stayed at the main hotel for years ,first time DAR Dorra ,nice rooms for single travelers ,the hotel is in a great location and very quite ,nice breakfast and sadly the roof top restaurant at lunch is to be avoided.
Very nice capable young waiters but no overall control ,and as I live in Tunisia have been there many times to eat, will avoid lunch in the future ,but at night very capable waiters .They don't seem to change but the ones in the day time always seem to ,something wrong 🤔🤔
Great location, walking distance to city centre, and so many shops around; it’s also easy to get taxis to airport which is like 10 minutes away (traffic can get congested during peak hours though).
Although the hotel is located in a busy street, it is pretty quiet inside, can barely hear the outdoor noise. The room I stayed in was beautiful, clean and comfortable and staff were pleasant and helpful.
Loved the breakfast which was tasty and had a variety of different foods.
Just stayed one night and all was fine. The location is ideal and the room was clean and quiet thus the Carlton was a great choice. I had an early flight and had only 10 minutes for breakfast but luckily it opened at 6AM. I wish I had more time, the breakfast spread was far beyond expectations. Airport transport with the hotel's vehicle is very, very reasonable, only 20 dirham for a dropoff and 30 for a pickup. When I return to Tunis this will again be my choice.
This place provides everything you need to feel welcome in Tunis. You can expect features typically found in a home-style boutique hotel rather than luxury hotels. It is clean, comfortable, and charming. The staff are not only warm and welcoming, but they also genuinely care about you. When I returned to the hotel late at night, they even sent someone to accompany me from the taxi to the hotel. I truly appreciated their thoughtfulness.
Location is in the old Tunis city. It is an unusual location as you can never imagine that there would be a luxurious hotel located in the inner city streets. The hotel is of an unusual design as it is a converted building which used to be a large family home followed by a school. The refurbishment that happened around 5 years ago is however of a very high standrad.
Hospitality was next level! A family run business that knows how to treat the customer well. My friend and I were upgraded to the suit and it was a phenomenal experience. We had to leave before breakfast was served but luckily the hotel accommodated and brought us breakfast at 4am! Got good sleep and delicious meal before a flight. Perfect location to the airport!
This is an old hotel, the rooms are worn down, the bath not clean, curtains torn, the bed uncomfortable. We particularly disliked the breakfast room that had no window and was dark and uninviting. The hotel is located in a dubious area; if we had known it is like that, we would have straight away taken a hotel close to Lac du Tunis.
The breakfast on offer is the best continental I’ve had out of the 4 different hotels I’ve stayed in Tunis. The rooms are clean, the TV works (with an all movie channel in English - MBC). The location is handy to shops and the centre is about 15 minute walk at best.
Hotel is un the heart of the centre. Hotel is very nice and the hotel staff very friendly and willing to help. Especially madamoiselle Emna was very friendly and gentle. Thank you so much. We will be happy to book again when we come back to Tunis.
The location of the hotel is really convenient, close to public transport facilities. I really liked the staff members and their sense of humour 😁😁 I will recommend the hotel to everybody wants to visit Tunis.
This modern hotel is very close to the airport and therefore makes a good stay for those heading into or out of Tunisia. Breakfast was good. there are some cafes within the vicinity and a large supermarket.
Staff was very helpful, especiallythe managers. The breakfast is quite nice, and it's overallgood value for the money. 2nd time in this hotel and I will probably repeat when back to Tunis
