We had a few issues with the booking but the staff were so accommodating and our stay was amazing! Great clean rooms, immersed in nature & overlooking the mountain! A perfect place if your not into the touristy places like Pai

Lovely bure style accommodation amongst tropical gardens. Our hostess was very helpful dropping us off at the caves and loaning bicycles to explore the area. She is an excellent chef who showed us how to make delicious cashew chicken Tom Yum soup and fried rice. We loved our peaceful stay here.

- We had read a lot of negative comments about the staff and the breakfast prior to booking, but to be honest, we found the staff to be extremely kind and attentive, and the breakfast proposed many options (typical breakfast options in Thailand).
- The style of the bungalows was really beautiful and the whole environment was very calming.
- The swimming pool is absolutely wonderful. We were lucky that there wasn't any other people or kid when we went swimming. It was very quiet and beautiful. The water was fresh and there was some areas of the pool with shade from the plants and trees around.
- Very good location, in the centre of town. We were able to start a running loop from there.

The place was very beautiful with mountain view and cute little houses with greenery. The price was quite affordable and the location was quite near to the cafes that we wanted to visit. The staff was really helpful and was nice enough to send the iron to our room.

Big beautiful garden with rooms opening to wide spaces. Clean and comfortable. Walking distance to town but better rent a bike to go around. The on site restaurant is also good.

What an amazing place , way way better than the photos . Your own private garden , bathtub and separate massive shower and bathroom with every possible thing you could ask for including body lotion .
Staff were amazing , food in the evening was Thai Style BBq which was also amazing .
Sat in the hot tub and watched the stars , fireflies everywhere to see
All in all amazing
On average, it costs £76 per night to book a 3-star hotel in Chiang Dao for tonight. You'll pay on average around £62 if you choose to stay in a 4-star hotel tonight, while a 5-star hotel in Chiang Dao will cost around £231 (based on Booking.com prices).
Welcoming little town well worth visiting. The temple and the caves are great but the best thing for me was that I stumbled into a bar up near the cave which is called . . The Cave bar. This place has to be visited if at all possible. Wonderful hostess and a really chilled, funky vibe.

Not touristic at all, and the local people not friendly.
Not recommend for solo travelers especially women. The treat very primitive.
No way to travel without scooter. There aren't taxi or bicycle available.
The nature around nice, also the caves. The mountain at night stunning.
The hot spring nice but not a big deal..
Nest 2 restaurant very recommended.

So if you'd like to get off the beaten track somewhat the Chiang Dao, the 1 hour bus ride north of Chiang Mai might be just the ticket. Nestled next to soaring, cloud-wreathed peaks, the pace of life slows down, there's interesting caves to explore, a riverside hot spring and Tuesday covered market.

We ended up staying 3 nights from the original 2 nights. There are a lot to see and explore. We didn't even go to the cave. There is a hot spring not far from town but the smell is too strong for me. Another one is Pong Arng hot springs, part of the Pha Daeng National Park, some 30km out from the bus station. Tickets are 100 baht for foreigners adults, 20 baht for Thai nationals which also admit you to the Sri Sangwan Waterfall some 5-6 km from there. The longan plantations as far as eyes can see, and the mountains view as the sun sets are just beautiful. You may get "lost" in some picturesque cul-de-sac temples or villages which you will never regret!

Chiang Dao is a lovely place to be with nature.
Chiang Dao is a lovely place to be with nature. The hot springs are a highlight, and many accomodations offer a view of the awesome Doi Luang.
From Chiang Mai the route is very simple and close enough to be comfortable (about 1hr30mins).
It's a great place to relax, reconnect with nature, maybe hike.

This hotel is set amongst stunning scenery and has amazing views 360°. The hotel itself is clean and modern and has a big beautiful pool and great gym for a work out. The rooftop restaurant is great and breakfasts are big and delicious. The owner, John, was so welcoming and friendly and drove us to a local restaurant and the bus station free of charge. I can't recommend this place enough.
The staff were very kind and helpful. The location is excellent (3 minute walk to the hot springs) and is immersed in nature. It is a short motorcycle/car ride to the caves.
Right next to a stream. Simple and comfortable accomodation. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Chiang Dao.
Also, lovely breakfast prepared for the guests!
Friendly owner who treats guests as the relatives who visited her home. Fantastic Doi Luang mountain view right from the yard! Kitchen and utensils are available 24 hours
What a lovely retreat, great food and lovely hosts. We could not have been better looked after. Absolutely recommend staying here for Chiang Dao activities.
