We liked the patio a lot and the possibility to eat there. The kitchen we could use was nice. Self check-in worked good and the communication with the very friendly host via WA was great.

The hostel is truly great and well deserving all its certificates of excellence - it feels that no superlative is sufficient enough to describe this wonderful place. Carlos, who speaks a very good English, and his team are absolutely amazing! Our private room - with private bathroom (with hot water!) - was tastefully furnished in green tones as a nod to the hostel´s name. Very nice breakfast was served, and there is also a possibility to eat dinner in the hostel´s bar - there were excellent dishes on the menu, cooked by Carlos himself. There is a swimming pool, hammocks, lots of plants and plenty places to sit around, and a lovely roof terrace. Drinks and snacks are available in freely accessible fridges and Carlos trusts his guests that they will pay for what they consumed. Carlos has plenty information and contacts for activities in and around Santa Ana. The hostel is well situated in the town, not too far from either the main square or the bus station.

You see a lot of crap online of wether or not Santa Ana is safeS we had zero problems and never felt unsafe at all. Santa Ana and El Salvador in general have made huge inprovements in safety these last years. The town is nice , you'll strugle to find a building with more than 2 stories. It has preserved it's old world charm. Not supermany things to do or see but a good base to go exploring from

The road especially the side streets are horrible.
The road especially the side streets are horrible. Needs a traffic officer in all the main road that are under construction even at night. I closed my eyes hoping that my husband won’t hit a vehicle as he drove on tight traffic areas. I’m worried that our rental car won’t break down on the unpaved roads- lots of rocks and open pits.
The Santa Ana people are very helpful and kind.

I really liked the Santa Ana Cathedral.
I really liked the Santa Ana Cathedral. As an amateur photographer, I also liked the colorful and dilapidated buildings around the cathedral. They made a great backdrop for street photography. Unfortunately, I spent only a day here so I was not able to see or do many things in the area. It is a great location to jump off the Ruta de las Flores though. I’m definitely happy that I decided to start the route here and not from San Salvador.

Santa Ana is a medium sized city tucked in the mountains.
Santa Ana is a medium sized city tucked in the mountains. The market is fun to explore and cathedral and theatre are gorgeous. Outside of town there are ruins, volcanoes, and a lake within an hour. The town doesn't have much tourism which gives it a more authentic feel, but also means you won't find many good restaurants around the square or at night.
clean and big private room is perfact, kitchen also good. there is very near bus stop. we can go anywhere.
location is very safe, specially host is so kind.
and she can speak in English, Its very easy to communicate. she gave so many information about the local traveling, Its very helpful.
My friend said, There is best place to traveling in santa ana. I agree too.
even, If you want to go to san salvador, also that bus is take very easily near there.
there is quite big supermarket. too. everything was perfact.
Really nice host sister couple who is really welcoming and helpful. Room is pretty basic, but does the trick. There is a fan on the sealing which you will need in Santa Ana. Location is fine, it’s close to a nice part of town with a few restaurants and coffee joints. Bit far from the real centre, but definitely within walking distance. Breakfast is included and is totally fine! I’m this is the best value for your money when you don’t want to spend too much on accommodation.
Great location on Lake Coatepeque, with access to the lake itself. The hotel is beautiful and has a really cool set-up. Some rooms face the garden and some rooms face the lake and they were all beautiful and spacious. The staff were very kind and helpful and worked hard. The included breakfast was delicious and all the other food was also really good. The prices were expensive for El Salvador, but in the end worth every penny.
Family owned hostel that feels so comfortable. I only came here one night after staying in another hostel in Santa Ana but I wish I would have stayed there longer. Very very kind family, so helpful. I met the wife at a little market on my way home and I was looking for yoghurt that they didn’t have, when we got back to the hostel, she gently gave me one of them. Pure kindness, highly recommended!
It’s a clean, safe and welcoming place. Easy to get on buses, which are only blocks away, to the lake or for the volcano hike after breakfast. There are good pupusarias around for any time of the day. Chocobanana from cross street grocery store is my new favorite. No matter it’s a short pass-through Santa Ana or taking breaks from a long journey, this place is a great choice.
A huge thanks to Velvet hotel - the stay was amazing! First of all, we could check in early, host helped out with everything - all the info, buses, covid test for Gvatemala. Also prepared our breakfast early so we can head out to volcano hike. Not to mention everything was very clean, modern and fresh. For the price you pay it's a fantastic deal. Thank you very much!
We loved our stay at Pool House Hostel, Adri and Roberto were wonderful hosts and such lovely people! Adri helped us with all our bus routes around Santa Ana and the Ruta de Las Flores, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The hostel itself is so cosy and Coco and Blackie are the cutest pets!
Luis was an amazing host. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. We booked 3 nights and ended up staying for one week. the location is ideal for access to all the sights around Santa Ana. We really appreciated all Luis’ assistance during our stay. I would highly recommend this place during your trip in this area.
Cool building with a burger/pizza restaurant within. Really cool, friendly staff willing to do pretty much anything to help out. Santa Ana is one of the friendliest towns I have visited this the past year also all in all great experience and great hostel!
It was located close to where I wanted to be. We were in Santa Ana for a volcano hike. There is a terrace with a nice view of the city. There was onsite parking. Not much else good to say. The place was average at best.
I stayed 4 nights and enjoyed my stay there. All the staff were amazing and super friendly. Nice breakfast served in the morning. Close to the city centre. Warm water in the shower. Recommended for a stay in Santa Ana.
The food was outstanding and the price was a steal! Breakfast was included and all of the food was traditional El Salvadorian food! The staff was quick to answer all our needs and very friendly.
host went above and beyond to make us comfortable. he really paid attention to details. He made our first few days in El Salvador so comfortable and we missed his hospitality once we left.
The owner was amazing. Provided so much information about Santa Ana and helped organised activities. Great comfy room with a free upgrade. good chilled vibes.
