Well equipped property with full privacy and gorgeous garden with mountains view. Most of the groceries for breakfast were already in the fridge when we arrived, and a fresh bread were supplied in the mornings. The property is 10 minutes drive from Coll de Boufes trailhead which is very comfortable if you plan to hike to La Nouvelle (very recommended)

The Museum of Music & Instuments of the Indian Ocean is not to be missed! Maison Folio is also worth a visit to see both the house and beautiful garden. We ate dinner at Chez Alice - best to pre-book as it is popular. We had the plat du jour for 22 Euros and were very satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the food.
It would have been better to stay at least 2 nights in Salazie and done some walking in the surrounds.
Alice, the landlady, is incredibly friendly. She shows you what hospitality means!
We even got a small pineapple from her garden as a gift.
Alice speaks perfect English.
The house is on a small hill and you have a nice view (you can even see waterfalls).
You have a lot of space to spread out. The terrace on both sides is also very large.
The small towns of Salazie and Hell Bourg are not far from here.
We felt very good and had a great time!
On the top of it there was a unbelievable rainbow when we arrived.
Such a beautiful place to stay! Nesting birds, farmland, palmtrees, mountains and a very well kept garden with flowers everywhere!
The lady of the house keeps the property in an excellent state and everything is as clean as in a 5 star hotel.
Furthermore, she is very attentive and serves an epic breakfast, directs you to the few restaurants around and the property is very close to hiking trails that go into Mafate.
The property was really easy to find. Sylvie and Jean Max went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Our flight was delayed and they even bought some basic food stuff for us. This is the perfect location to explore the Salazie/Hell-bourg area as well as all the walking trails. They even booked a restaurant for us, as we don't speak french.
Amazing stay at L'Escale Royale, Sebastian and his wife are great hosts and made our stay memorable. Do choose their dinner option if offered, they cooked great traditional creole dinner every night.
Also the place where the hotel is located. offers great views as you wake up in a valley between mountains. Just amaizng.
The Relais Des Cimes is typical of properties in the area, is well located in the centre of Hell-Bourg and has a restaurant on site. From what we saw, it is one of the better quality hotels in the immediate area. The staff were excellent and very helpful and the view from the balcony was stunning.
Christel is a very friendly and helpful host. She makes you feel as a part of her family and like if you were at home. Moreover is an amazing cooker. The place is easy and cozy (not a luxurious hotel) but with everything that you need, and next to Mafate cirque.
We spent few days on this place and had really good time. The place is really comfortable, the hosts are really nice and the view is incredible. The location is great for the different hikes in Salazie. I highly recommand !
I wanted to open my beer which I bought at supermarket at a bar of the hotel- not only it was opened for me, I was also given a bucket of ice to cool it down. Thank you :). The rest - rooms, etc were good too.
