We loved our stay in Salema. The Moroccan style house was stunning. The house was in a great location, and we were able to walk to everything. The small town is beautiful.

From villa not really walkable as street so very narrow.
From villa not really walkable as street so very narrow. Path not suitable for older folks or those with mobility problems. Had to drive. Good restaurants, beach and coffee shops. Grocery store close .
Easy drive to other beaches and towns for exploring.

The street closest to the beach where we stayed was the best 'old world' part of Salema. Other parts can be less aesthetically pleasing but the whole place is less fussy and busy than other coastal spots like Luz or Lagos. A quiet place worth 2 nights. Restaurant options good too, even in winter.

I loved this beach!
I loved this beach! It was so picturesque and uncluttered with commercialism. The water was a little too cold for us to swim, but it was a beautiful to stroll along the beach. Although this was a small beach, there were plenty of restaurants.

Quiet fishing village, not touristy.
Quiet fishing village, not touristy. Beautiful beaches and views of the ocean. Friendly people, good restaurants, lots of fresh fish. Easy to get around if you are wearing sturdy shoes as lots of steps and steep paths into the village from Salema Beach Village, however, there is a shuttle service from the hotel if required.

I deliberately chose to stay in Salema as I was looking for a small, pristine beach/fisherman g location - and I found it all there!
Salema has preserved its authentic self despite the tide of tourism that has engulfed other parts of the Algarve.
The beach is big enough to absorb many visitors without being full. The sand is beautiful and sunsets are of course very special.
The village has some very good restaurants, a gelateria and lots of cute shops.
And who doesn’t want to live, even temporarily, on Rua dos Pescadores!
This hotel is located in a perfect spot to be able to walk to I would say over 8 or more places to eat. It is ON the beach and you could come out of the hotel and go right to the sand if you want. I have a corner ocean view room and was perfect. The staff or who I think is the owner was super nice and a great person. I could go back here and stay a week and chill at this hotel easy. Small little store very close to get items and next to that could get breakfast each morning.
We had a balcony view of the harbour area which was excellent. There was limited parking but was always available when we were there which was not a busy time….October. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. Salema is very close to a lot of area attractions like Sagres and the beaches on the Atlantic! These places were amazing to visit from Salema. We also had probably one of our best meals of our Portugal trip in Salema at ‘Em Lume Brando.
We wanted to stay in Salema while in the Algarve. This small, well run, tidy hotel was centrally located in this small fishing village, walking distance to small, fantastic restaurants and across the street from the beach. The hotel was modest in every way. And very clean. The complimentary breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and good, and the dining area even had cloth tablecloths, little details. The hotel staff was helpful.
Great old house with lots of vintage character! The location is great, up on the hill with a great view. Garden and pool are nice. Lots of space in the living room/dining area. Great communication with the host. Parking available. Good WIFI. Quite at night. Just a 10 minute walk to the beach (very steep, so you have to be fit). Salema ist great. Nothing to complain about, we enjoyed the time here a lot and will be back.
Location was great! Salema is quieter than the other towns but still has restaurants and things to do. Property is just lovely - patios in front of the rooms, shade umbrellas, nice honor bar. Rooms felt very clean and comfortable with lots of nice touches. Owner is very nice and we loved his friendly dog.
The location is very good. It is a moderate walk downhill to the beach and town, it is a steep climb back. The view from our unit, U20 was nice, but not like the photo on the website. Salema was recommended as a more picturesque beach town than other places in the Algarve and I have to agree.
Great location. A small hike down the hill to the beach. View of the pool and ocean in the distance. Market just out the door to the apartment. Coffee shop also just out the apartment door. Good parking and clean tidy apartment. Two single beds (same as many European hotels).
Very nice and cozy, but spacious apartment, just 5 minutes walking distance from the beautiful beach in Salema. The best is the amazing view from the balcony, where we enjoyed breakfast everyday with the sun! Also kitchen equipment was complete and very useful.
The hotel is located right next to the beach in a small town not over run by tourists. It has a definite Portuguese style, very homey. The staff treats you like family. Although the hotel is older it is well maintained and has a great location.
Beautiful view of the ocean from Villa 20. Lots of steps and steep inclines into the village but the hotel provided transportation back if need. Great restaurants, friendly people. Fairly quiet fishing village, not touristy.
The location is very good. It's a great starting point for various kinds of activity: hiking, cycling, sightseeing. The Salema Beach is not far from there. Moreover, the territory of Salema Camp is quite extensive.
We had a lovely stay in this house with breathtaking view of Salema and the sea, right at the beach and near some lovely restaurants with vegan options and great hiking routes. Felt very at home, thank you Jo!
Best location and view in Salema. This is a newly built building on the beach. The Atlantico Restaurant is on the ground floor and the residential units are above. This is beach front with full water views.
Comfortable bed. good shower, great garden, air conditioning. A lot of accommodation in Salema is up steep hills - this one is on the flat beside the beach
