Fantastic experience overall. Great indoor pool, outdoor pool, gym and spa. Unforgettable views of the ocean from the pools and the restaurant. I upgraded for ocean view and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was great as well, a lot of choices including local fresh products.

Very modern looking, spacious apartment. It was very well equipped including washing machine, tumble dryer and cooking appliances. Beds were also very comfortable.
Location couldn't be any better. The apartment is 2 minutes walk away from the beach and there are shops and bakery nearby as well.
Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything.

The cottage was very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils.
Every day the staff came and cleaned and every two days there was a change of towels.
In addition, a beautiful garden inviting to spend time in it.
The pool also looked good, but unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to use it.
The location is very good, if you have a car - there is also a parking lot with a locked gate so there is no problem with leaving the car.
Contact with the hotel staff without a problem.
Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would recommend :)

The house was perfect for our family of 7 adults and 2 small children. The location is amazing, very close to the beach (you can see the sea from some of the rooms and from the sundeck), and a restaurant and beach bar just around the corner. We used the outside kitchen/barbecue a lot for our dinners. We loved the outdoor space, its of places to sit and relax, and even a jacuzzi!
The staff was very attentive and sincere. We had a delicious breakfast at the Resort daily. The beach was an integral part of a relaxing stay. Once you become accustomed to a round-about, you'll be fine driving. The city of Ribeira Grande is very walkable too.

Lots of hiking around, great beaches, nice local restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Relatively good public transport to get around. Often cheaper to take taxi to get around than renting a car. In total we spent 4 weeks on the Azores and had a rental car for 4 days, this was one too much. Taxi is great for getting almost everywhere. Public transport is somehow good.

The town has some very interesting historical buildings, but it seems the economic turndown took a lot from its better days. Walking there at night was rather a Lovecraftian experience. It's safe, but it's just that there's not much to do there. But it's a small island and the town is right in its middle and it was very handy for the day trips visiting its different parts.

Ribeira Grande is a fantastic place to stay if you're...
Ribeira Grande is a fantastic place to stay if you're visiting São Miguel. It is located more central than Ponta Delgada while being only a 15 minute car ride away from the airport, so it's the perfect place from which to explore the entire island. An added bonus is that it's right next to the best beaches in São Miguel: most beaches on the island are rocky, the only true sandy beaches are next to Ribeira Grande. We went surfing twice at Santa Bárbara beach, only 10 minutes away from where we stayed in Ribeira Grande. The city itself is fairly small but quaint and has everything you need, including a pretty large supermarket (Continente), some cafes and restaurants, stores, even a laundromat. The only downside is that for vegans/vegetarians it's pretty hard to eat out, but that is true for almost all of the island except a few places in Ponta Delgada.
Wonderful location, new kitchen, friendly and accommodating host, and all around great stay! Can’t believe it’s not a perfect 10.
Carlos provided an amazing array of local produce that was the best gift we have received at any booking stay.
The washer was just what we needed after a rainy and muddy week. The kitchen had all new appliances and the two heater/ACs helped keep both the upstairs and downstairs at a temperature that worked for us.
The location is right by the beach, which you can see from the backyard.
The room was spacious, the breakfast provided every morning was delicious, the hosts were very friendly and gave lots of great recommendations, and the hosts even did our laundry and cleaned the room halfway through the stay since we were staying for 10 days. The location was great since it was in the middle of the island so it was no more than 40 minutes to get to any part of it. Ribeira Grande also had great hot springs that were 15 min away and they were our favorite!
I really liked the location, in a quiet village close to the main spots like Ribeira Grande, Ponta Delgada. The core value was the view from the window: the ocean in all its majesty!
The host has been very kind and helpful from the time I made the booking. She was always available for any questions before the departure, promptly responding and providing hints.
I definitely recommend this place if you want to see and hear the ocean all the time!
The property was beautiful and right outside of the main town of Ribeira Grande. We were in easy walking or driving distance of so many things to do - Santa Barbara beach, waterfall hikes, etc. The pool was unheated so we didn't get in much, but we did dip our toes. It was so nice to open up our doors in the morning to the wonderful view! The hosts also provided some cheese, bread, and jam which made for a nice breakfast the first morning.
Great view onto beach and sea.
Beautiful design of hotel.
Breakfast was very tasty but the menu didn't change. It was good for a short stay but would be too repetitive for a longer stay.
The hotel organised some great activities for us, including canyoning and whale watching although this took some communication as the experiences email address given on the hotel website is no longer in use (although still shown on the website).
Room was very spacious and clean, great bathroom woth a bathtub and shower. Amazing view.
Reception stuff was very nice and helpful same for the waiters in the dining area.
Breakfast was very rich and there were a lot of things to pick from.
Facilities were great, outdoor and indoor swimming pool, wet and dry sauna and others that we did not use aswe only spent a day in this hotel.
Rossana and her husband are the greatest people, really warm feeling from the first second I have arrived, large room, clean, big terrase, absolute privacy, great breakfast, she is making her own jams which you can taste by the breakfast and they are to die for. It is super close to the square, you can walk around the cute Ribeira Grande and not that far from the beach as well. I will be back!
Rose Apartment A was a really good choice to stay in Ribeira Grande. Check-in was very easy - we obtained a number code before our arrival (it is good that you do not need any key to bring with you all the time). The flat is quite big, the bathroom is huge with double shower. :) There is a small parking place just next the corner (or you can park on the street if it is full).
The location of Ribeira Grande is great as it is very central to the island.
The calmness of the house in the city Center but on a calm street and on top of the river!
Few minutes walk from everything, the beach, supermarkets, restaurants and half an hour drive to the stunning Lagoa do Fogo and Caldeira Velha!
Beautiful house with a garden, swimming pool and a big kitchen, nicely decorated and clean rooms, very helpful and friendly staff, easy check-in, excellent breakfast and brunch and they even lend us orange towels to go to the hotsprings! Best hotel we stayed in during in Sao Miguel:)
This property is right in the heart of Ribeira Grande, and it is stunning! We loved that we were able to swing by the market and make our breakfasts back at the villa. This was a great central location for exploring the whole island.
Graca was a wonderful host. It is a modern, fully equipped house. Nice location in a calm neighbourhood in Ribeira Grande. New large kitchen with everything that you need. The host is always ready to help with all the requests.
Everything about Santa Barbara Eco Beach Resort was exceptional. The concierge helped us book a rental car and plan our itinerary during the stay, the food and staff were amazing, and the location to the beach is unbeatable.
Nice beds and good simple breakfast
Because we like to walk to the worth to see city center of Ribeira Grande....you can walk alongside the beach / torndown - and nice new houses
It is a newer property; it's clean and in a great location. It's easy to walk from the hotel to explore the town, get to restaurants etc. It was a comfortable stay.
