The location is great, it was very clean, and the breakfast was good: cereals, yogurt, cheese and ham, several breads, etc.

Near to the beach, stuff ok, very comfortable, clean, everything was ok, with one exception, the breakfast not so diverse. It was the same food every day. Maybe this can be improved.
Air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV are offered by this hotel in Estela, which is situated 2 km from Rio Alto Beach. It has a panoramic terrace overlooking the countryside and well-kept gardens.
Quiet city. Nice beaches with nice promenads. Apart from that, a very "dead" city. To the point where we had to go to the Casino to see and do something. And the Casino was pretty bad as well.
Might be good for families, but not if you look for good food, bars, museums or culture.

This is a popular resort with Portuguese families who make up the huge majority of visitors here - not many Brits and not much English spoken. Big clean beaches - sea very cold even in July, Huge activity on the beach - these people play Basketball and Beach Volleyball all day and all night! Vast range of restaurants and other bars etc, and all very reasonably priced - did not feel we were paying the same prices we were paying in Porto itself.

Povoa is a great city.
Povoa is a great city. The beach is wonderful, the people are great, and there is plenty to do within the immediate area (Povoa and Vila do Conde). Povoa is also very close to Porto, Braga, Viana do Castelo, and a host of other cool places. The beach is clean and nice.

If you would like to make a fantastic holiday in a local area near Porto. I would suggest this place. This area just 20 minutes from the Airport and the beach is beautiful. I felt the local shops and restaurants aren't expensive at all.

It´s easy to get to the hotel & take the most of the outdoor swimmingpool.

The WiFi was powerful.
The location is secluded but that was part of its appeal. The beach was excellent - again, enjoyment of it was dependent on the weather and we had one poor and two good days. Breakfast was decent and uncrowded which for summer was good. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. The pool was a definite asset.
It was terrible, a dog barked all night long. We couldn’t sleep at all, dog barked non stop and they didn’t offer to move us to another room. We asked for a partial refund since a full refund was denied. Staff at hotel said the dog wasn’t their fault. This review better not be erased by bookings.
This was the perfect place to spend a couple days on the beach resting after completing my Camino. Everything was clean. The staff was very accommodating and gave suggestions on things to do. Location was right on the beach and close to amenities. Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel's facilities, a large and well equipped room with a very nice balcony and view on the town of Póvoa de Varzim and on the garden of the hotel.
The common areas as well as the rooms are spotless and the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Sleeping above the crashing surf just upstairs from Bruno's family cafe with the best cocktails in Portugal. The washing machine and drying rack, plus a small grocery store just a few steps away, were added bonuses.
The staff was amazing! We were greeted at the door and felt very welcome. Breakfast was excellent and once again the staff was amazing, asking us if we needed more. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Siglas & Ruinas is located in the center of town and close to the beach. Its a cosy and comfortable B and B with a very welcoming hostess. We only stayed one night but we hope to be back!
Owned and operated by a very friendly and professional family. The house is of a traditional style, very bright and very clean. You will be extremely well located in Povoa de Varzim!
Great hotel close to the beach. Perfect for the short stay. Daily cleaning and changing of towels is a plus, because towels do not dry by themselves in that humidity.
