Well what a ‘gem’ of place to stay in whilst visiting Mourão. We did not expect what we found and as soon as were greeted by the lovely Cristina and walked through the very small door into what I can only describe as a ‘tardis’, we were quite blown away. This place is fantastic and belongs to a lady named Maria who is an artist and has her studio on the premises. Her artwork is all around the house and so are her Mum’s sculptures. The house is amazing and so spacious which surprised us, because from the outside it is quite deceiving. We were lucky and managed to park on the road opposite the house, but the roads are very narrow and if you can’t find anywhere outside, there are some parking spaces in the little square which is a few minutes walk from the property. Our room was on the ground floor and had a good size double bed and a fantastic walk-in shower in the bathroom. We were made to feel very welcome and Cristina could not do enough for us. There is a great local Portuguese restaurant a couple of doors down from the house and where we had dinner and then a short walk to the square, which is the hub of the town and where everyone gathers to sit and drink their wine at the local bar there. The breakfast was fantastic and again made and served by Cristina. There is a lovely garden outside with plenty of seating available and there is also a roof terrace with sun-loungers, where you can lounge and watch the sun go down. We did not want to leave and will definitely stay here again. This is such good value for money and I would recommend anyone to stay here, if visiting Mourao.

This accommodation is conveniently located near Monsaraz village, reservoirs and Spanish border. Mourao is a small, quiet town with a castle. The appartment is on the ground floor and we could park just next to the house. It is spacious with an entry room, two bedrooms, kitchen sitting area and a small patio next to the kitchen.. Also bathroom is a good size. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. Free Wi-Fi was reliable. There are several dogs in the neighborhood, but fortunately they were quiet during the night. Recommend it.

The place is lovely and very beautiful. Everything is well cared for and looks very nice. The pools and room were clean. The bed was comfortable and the staff was very kind. Breakfast was nice with loads of options. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area in the future.

Wow, what a gem of a hotel. This is a truly spectacular property that exceeded even our high expectations. The staff and service were fantastic and the place gives you an immediate sense of calm. The surroundings are absolutely stunning. What we also appreciated was that the food, drinks and activities were not overpriced, so you left feeling like you were not taken advantage of, which can be the case for a lot of high end hotels. The food was delicious and in beautiful settings.

The stay at montimerso was suberb. Breathtaking views, very comfortable room and shared facilities, great food and the staff was very supportive and friendly. We will definitely come back to relax and enjoy this experience again!

Mouroa castle is usually closed but nice to walk around it. The main castle for the area is Mansaraz castle, just 5 minutes down the road. Wonderful castle with medieval village inside it walls, set on the highest hill in the area. Has shops with fantastic local pottery and restaurants. Also Knights Templar temple, ancient stone monument, and swimming beaches at the large lake in the area. There is a lot to see and do if you want to.
In fact it's one of the best places we've stayed in. Nature is the basics, but hotel owners used it the best way possible. Can't even go into every detail, because to us everything there was ideal - from lake view to magnificent kitchen. Well, and we haven't seen such a wonderful night sky for a long-long time. The place is highly recommended. I believe couples will appreciate romantic stay mostly. Peaceful views and comfortable silence makes your time there unforgettable.

This hotel is in quiet location surrounded by olive groves. A great hide away. The decor and ambience of the building is superb. The staff were brilliant and attentive as were the two dogs who went walking with us in the morning

I was expected to enjoy SPA , but there are only available spring pool , that was pity . I liked chika (dog) and liked good service ,nice environment. But the distance is too far And the roadway to getting your hotel was so bad
The hotel is situated nicely. We had a short visit, however we had a lovely time. The place is super neat, clean and quiet. Staff was lovely. The only thing my partner complained about a bit was a firm mattress.
Overall the hotel is quite good.
The food at the restaurant is really good, however there were some restrictions on the reservation schedules. The views are amazing.
