This accommodation is conveniently located near Monsaraz village, reservoirs and Spanish border. Mourao is a small, quiet town with a castle. The appartment is on the ground floor and we could park just next to the house. It is spacious with an entry room, two bedrooms, kitchen sitting area and a small patio next to the kitchen.. Also bathroom is a good size. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. Free Wi-Fi was reliable. There are several dogs in the neighborhood, but fortunately they were quiet during the night. Recommend it.

Wow, what a gem of a hotel. This is a truly spectacular property that exceeded even our high expectations. The staff and service were fantastic and the place gives you an immediate sense of calm. The surroundings are absolutely stunning. What we also appreciated was that the food, drinks and activities were not overpriced, so you left feeling like you were not taken advantage of, which can be the case for a lot of high end hotels. The food was delicious and in beautiful settings.

Despite some language barriers, communication with staff was achieved and able to make ourselves understood. This would probably not be a problem when the hotel is busier and more staff are present (only one in the evening and morning).
Evening meal and breakfast were both excellent in very pleasant surroundings, and would be even better during the summer as could be outside.
Location is very convenient for Monsaraz (as long as you have a car).

Mouroa castle is usually closed but nice to walk around it. The main castle for the area is Mansaraz castle, just 5 minutes down the road. Wonderful castle with medieval village inside it walls, set on the highest hill in the area. Has shops with fantastic local pottery and restaurants. Also Knights Templar temple, ancient stone monument, and swimming beaches at the large lake in the area. There is a lot to see and do if you want to.
In fact it's one of the best places we've stayed in. Nature is the basics, but hotel owners used it the best way possible. Can't even go into every detail, because to us everything there was ideal - from lake view to magnificent kitchen. Well, and we haven't seen such a wonderful night sky for a long-long time. The place is highly recommended. I believe couples will appreciate romantic stay mostly. Peaceful views and comfortable silence makes your time there unforgettable.
This is a smart and clean hostel and my room felt like a boutique hotel. The room had a lovely bathroom.

I was there on a Monday and there was nowhere to eat. (The bar up the road was good but only did sandwiches). I bought food from the supermarket.

- The common areas are very good: kitchen with all the equipments, living room, small pool, and upper deck with a jacuzzi where you can go and see the stars at night.
- Nice host, very welcoming.

This hotel offers very nice beautifully furnished rooms in a nice quiet location right in the center of the small town. The town is worth a visit with its small main street bordered by lemon trees. The local castle is also within a short walking distance and the hotel has a pool area for guests.
Great location with views to the Alqueva. Covid safe conditions throughout the hotel. Very attentive and helpful staff. Spacious bedroom with comfortable bed. We received a small pot of honey as thank you present from staying at the hotel which was a nice touch.
Beautiful location directly on the lake, wonderful view from breakfast/dining room. Nice breakfast buffet. Walks starting right from the Hotel. Close to Spanish border and other nice attraction, we enjoyed doing a night session at the Observatory close by.
This hotel is in quiet location surrounded by olive groves. A great hide away. The decor and ambience of the building is superb. The staff were brilliant and attentive as were the two dogs who went walking with us in the morning
I was expected to enjoy SPA , but there are only available spring pool , that was pity . I liked chika (dog) and liked good service ,nice environment. But the distance is too far And the roadway to getting your hotel was so bad
