The Albergaria was lovely. Spacious rooms. I had the impression when booking that we had a big balcony so that all three of us could enjoy. Pictures on the website not that clear. However, these are only for the rooms with three beds and we booked two double rooms. One did have a small balcony. It was however a nice place to stay opposite the beach... all commodities close by.

Friendliness of the staff from reception, house-keeping and restaurant staff.
We have stayed here a number of times over the years and the outdoor terrace with seating, sun loungers and outdoor pool is the perfect area to relax.
We visit Viana Do Castelo for family and Axis is in a great location to visit all the areas we need to which are all within walking distance.

We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer than one night. The suite was spacious and fabulous. Everything was very modern and clean and we had an extremely large bathroom 'suite'. There was plenty of space for everything. We had complimentary fruit on arrival. The staff were so helpful and pleasant. I thought I had lost my passport whilst unpacking and one of the staff spent a lot of time helping me to find it with very good grace. The breakfast was very good. I didn't use all the facilities. I wasn't expecting them as I thought the hotel was 3* but it really was of 4* calibre as far as I was concerned.

Parked outside hotel while checked in, but then moved car to free parking 5 minute walk away. A lovely, friendly and helpful check in, even looking up restaurants that would be open for us on a Sunday and Monday (not many!) Hotel room and bathroom perfect. We didn't have good weather when there so I feel we didn't see the full beauty of the town unfortunately. We made use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room, excellent. Recommend the hotel highly, food excellent (ate dinner there one night), breakfast very good and piano playing was a bonus. Stunningly decorated with artwork and furniture throughout hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful.
