The wine barrell bungalow was gorgeous! The food was exceptional (particularly the breakfast). Loved the fact it was served to our room. The staff were so friendly. The whole experience was sublime!

Enjoyed both al fresco dining and also the marvellous family dining setting. Using the external spaces, terraces. The sounds of the vineyard during harvest.

We had a two night stop just outside Lamego mid September, perfect for us. There are enough things to see and do for this period of time including a museum. Unfortunately this was closed during our stay. Thursday appears to be a market day and pretty traditional. The highlight of this city is Santuario de Nossa Senhora dos Remedios. Get ready for some exercise!

We have been travelling for many years and staying through booking.com. Our hosts Jorge and Isobel were simply wonderful and made our 4 day stay in the Douro valley just the best part of our trip. They were welcoming, generous and shared so much hospitality with us. We highly recommend Quinta do Apriceste to anyone travelling to the Douro to make the best of their holiday!

Geographically Lamego is in a hollow.
Geographically Lamego is in a hollow. As I approached from the south in full sun in December you could see Lamego covered in mist, cold damp mist. It lasted for my 3 day stay and the sun was only visible as I left and approached the Duro River!
The accommodation was dia and the highlight was the cheerful taxi driver to took me out!!
Limited walking as two routes were terminated by loose snarling dogs!

Very pretty city, could have spent more time just hanging out and getting to know the city and way of life. If you are there just to walk to the top of the steps to see the cathedral, then one day is sufficient.
Laura was very kind and explained the history of the house. It is nice to be in a historic house where wine used to be made! The historic kitchen is very nice. The hamlet very nice. And just a few steps from one of the oldest chapels of Portugal! The shower worked well. I slept fine.
It is best to take the asphalt road from the north (from Lamego), which is fine. Very scenic as well.
this was THE BEST hotel of our trip in portugal. Amazingly nice staff, beautiful property, and the most delicious breakfast you can imagine. Dinners in the restaurant were excellent too. Great location for exploring Douro Valley as well. We are dreaming of going back!
Nice family-owned hotel close to the tourism office in the center of Lamego. Very nice staff and owners. Big room with small balcony. Old-fashion interiors but very nice and clean. Walking distance to restaurants, bakeries and interesting monuments to visit.
Our stay was incredible staying at this very old wine yard in the middle of the Douro Valley so authentic. This is not a hotel this is an old family house where you are invited and treated as you are a part of the family!
