Cracking on site restaurant which is excellent food and cheap tbh. Safe motorcycle parking at rear. Very attentive waiter who helps u unload bikes etc. Breakfast good. Continental mainly but they do small amounts of poached eggs and weird bacon rashers. Nice. 4 euros per pint at bar. Cash only there. Hair dryer which was great for wet gloves.

The city is very clean and tidy, with lots of very nice places to eat.
The castle is very well preserved, with a Military museum in one of the towers.
One of the reasons we drove to Bragança was to see the Graça Morais art exhibition - she is one of Portugal's best contemporary artists, and she lives and works in Bragança - it was very good!
Just north of the city, the Montesinho National Park has plenty of wilderness for trekking, biking and road trips.

Bragança is a cozy little historic town, the main feature being the castle on the hill. Recommend walking along the river to get there. A little bit of a climb to get to the castle but not too bad. Walk the castle walls and then wander the interior. Come back through the charming center of town. Plenty of good little restaurants and cafes along the way.

The beautiful ancient town of Braganca is a good choice for a short stay while being in Porto. The atmosphere of a place far from the beaten track makes it all worthwile. It offers a picturesque old town, numerous museums that one might visit for free, a park where one can stroll along the river and enjoy the views. Plus, there is a castle (Castelo de Bragança), which is a must-see on the list. Being there do not forget to drop in a Tourist Info where you'll find a superkind staff who will help you plan you trip in and around the place. It is also the gateway to the Park Natural de Montesinho. Enjoy!

To stroll around the castle during a late evening is great.
To stroll around the castle during a late evening is great. Perhaps there are some outdoor activities. I liked the town so much, because it's pleasent to walk around - more pleasant than in other towns, but can't define exactly why so.
This was our fourth trip to this hotel, and everything was as good as our previous visits.
The on site Michelin Star restaurant is such a treat and we enjoyed the fantastic dining experience with paired wines from the region.
The included breakfast is very nice too.
It was lovely that the outdoor pool was open, despite it being earlier than expected opening date.
