Upon arrival the host was warm and welcoming as we didn't end up meeting the wife. It felt like as if we were in our own place which isn't.
The hosting service went above and beyond and being a private home, the house was warm and that it felt like you belonged. The host also mentioned upon arrival what to expect as rules while we stayed.
Location isn't that bad either as it's just a few km's to town if you need anything and also not far from the esplanade and the local pools and as you drive to get into town there's a few local shops before you get to main town where the Plaza is.
Food was offered to you in the morning and served the basics which is cereal, milk, yogurt, bacon, eggs, baked beans, spaghetti and toast with choice of some spreads.
There were some amenities being shared with the guests and the owners of the place as being shared that is what you'll expect from the guest. Shower great pressure and good for after long day being out also there was a bath tub. Bathroom was a shared one too.
Spa was available if we wanted to use it and was no extra cost for using it which in the end my partner and I didn't end up using it.
Rooms were great and reasonable size. Had a oil heater if needed. Bed was comfortable and enjoyed our rest.
Lounge where there was an extra TV reasonable size and couch was comfortable.
Price is great for what you get from it.
They allowed us to use their washing machine if we needed to wash our clothes for no extra cost either and it was located in the garage. Garage where it was big enough to have a small party which you're not allowed being their own home.

Everything was amazing! Perfection is in the details. Sweet thoughtful gestures made the stay complete. I was travelling solo for work and the snacks provided were such a great touch, as it's often long days and little to no time for food. Heated towels, under floor heating in the bathroom and the heat pump switched on before arrival to make it feel like coming home. A place to relax. Also, no need to do dishes.
Even thought it's in the main house, complete privacy. Would definitely recommend to everyone!

Everything was comfortable, clean and lovely. The staff look after you like family, couldn’t be nicer. The hotel has a bit of an art deco theme going on which is really nice and the location is fantastic, q10 minutes walk into the centre of town , 5 minutes walk to the art gallery, museum and NZ rugby museum. loved the fridge filled with cold bottles of water you could help yourself to. Totally recommend this hotel.

There were bugs in the mattress and dust mites in the carpet!
The owner said that they had never had complaints before..butbi really think the room needs to be fumigated.
I was the only one staying in that complex.
There is only one other motel in Woodville.
I only booked inbthrough sheer necessity, but didn't sleep at all, because I itxhed all night.
I had to move my bags into the shower but I still took some hitchhiking bugs with me@

I was staying in Woodville for 2 nights to explore the surrounding area and it's walks including the Manawatu Reserve and Ruahine Ranges. I would highly recommend the Fish n Chip shop on the main street of Woodville, beautiful fish and yummy chips. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well as the locals and others I waited with outside. I felt very safe being a single female travelling on my own and the information people shared about the local area was very helpful for my trip the following day. I also had a very tasty fruit icecream from the shop just down from the Fish n Chip shop.
I found Woodville a very peaceful, friendly place to stay. On the day I left it was bustling with people in the shops and eating at the local cafe.
