It was everything we expected it to be.

It was everything we expected it to be. Prior to going there, we read about the area, as our host sent us a very informative booklet. It explained everything from nearby restaurants , shops and walk ways. Waiotahi has a long stretch of beach so walks on the beach are definitely recommended. Sunset views at Waiotahi from the beach are breathtaking!! Shops are 15 mins away, so its best to take your essentials. We loved the town area of Opotiki and The Hot Bread Cafe has great food and coffee. The Ohiwa Oyster farm has amazing burgers and fish and chips.

Friendly hosts; clean and spacious room; good shared facilities; adorable pets: cats, puppy, sheep, deer, horse and donkeys; and the off-the-beaten-track location ideal for those who want to get away from the city even for a night.

Lovely quiet setting out in the country and easy to find. Everything was as described but even better. Caroline was friendly, accommodating and available but also let us have space. Feels very relaxed, welcoming and like home.

It would have been lovely to have had more time to explore the birdlife & conservation area. Also to swim in the ocean, but we went in late Spring so not very busy, which is what we prefer. It is a delightfully peaceful place and you could also walk out on the flats at low tide , which we also didn't have time to do. We would certainly like to return to see more of the area as never been there before.
