Loved the property & location.
Lovely home & really spacious.
The shower temperature was a little too hot & when you turned it back to a better temperature the water pressure dropped which wasn’t so good, but in general the whole experience was really lovely for us and just a minor thing.

Love Oamaru.
Love Oamaru. The people are friendly, the buildings wonderful, and there are some great shops including the pop ups. Excellent coffee and great food. The early poppies are beautiful. We are retired and always enjoy our visits to Oamaru, especially when we are going to a show at the Opera House.

We chose an overnight stop at Oamaru on our way from Queenstown to Christchurch. It is a quaint little town. We love the Victorian architecture building and friendly neighbourhood. We could have stay for an additional night at Oamaru.

The North Otago (base in Oamaru) area is a hidden gem.
The North Otago (base in Oamaru) area is a hidden gem. Penguins, seals, steam punk, cheese factory, crayfish and blue cod at Moeraki, historic sites. And good restaurants in Oamaru and the area (Whitestone Diner -- as long as you like cheese, Fat Sally's, Fishwife, Moeraki Tavern, Hampden Fish shop and others).
We go back regularly and the area rarely disappoints. To enjoy fully you need a car.

It's a really cool town, the victorian precinct is amazing and you can spend hours just walking and admiring the buildings. There's a farmers market on Sundays and a lovely train that departs from the front to Steampunk museum to the penguin colony. It's a short but beautiful ride.
There are sea lions and seals everywhere and it's guaranteed you'll take nice pictures from them 😉
This self-contained unit was a true gem from the color scheme throughout the unit to the well-appointed bathroom to the perfectly sized kitchen. We like having a bedroom separate from the 'living" area, and this fit the bill. Violeta could not have been more gracious and helpful with restaurant suggestions. The "tourist" area of Oamaru is literally two blocks away and the penguin colony is also easily accessible. This place is so convenient, NOT on a major highway, and priced right. What more could you ask for.
Poshtel is one of the quirkiest (in a good way!) hotels we have ever stayed in. Each room has its own theme - ours seemed to be music, in particular, brass instruments! We loved the vibe, the locations, the facilities, the warm welcome and informal 'self service' breakfast. A perfect base for a couple of days in Oamaru.
The building looks more like a house than a hotel. There were many decorations in the house, especially decirations of penguins, which made it very lovley. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. There was also a massage chair.
The accommodation is also very close to all the major attractions in Oamaru.
Excellent service, we had late check in and they accommodated for that. Staff were absolutely amazing. Facilities cleaned daily, cleanest motel i’ve ever been in. Lovely room with a great layout. Will recommend to anyone staying in Oamaru! Thanks for having us
The hotel was well located, on the main street of Oamaru, and an easy 20-minute walk to the penguin conservation centre, which was the reason for our visit. It was quiet and the restaurant area is lovely.
