Well priced, clean, comfortable hotel in town. I didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked nice and seemed popular with locals as well as guests. Decorated in an eclectic style. Good size rooms, comfy beds.

I can recommend Pomeroy's Cafe.on the opposite side of the Square for their delicious matcha laites. Nelson's many art gallerys are enough to satisfy the most avid art lover with the delightful, meandering walk out through Queens Gardens to Nelson's Suter Art Gallery and cafe, always a highlight.

Nelson is a lovely town, with beautiful hanging baskets and old, unique architecture, close to Tahunanui beach, which is lovely. The Saturday market is great and wandering around Nelson town is fun, there are some good small specialty shops. I enjoyed the museum and the Suter Art Gallery and Queens Gardens. It is also a great base to visit both the Marlborough and the Tasman regions.

The Art and Crafts I saw were excellent.
The Art and Crafts I saw were excellent. The Suter Gallery was a highlight, and I enjoyed the Cathedral. I really enjoyed the walk up to "the centre of N.Z" and the views from there. I had some very good food and liked looking at the architecture - e.g the villas and transitional villas in The Brook. Founders Park and Miyazu Japanese Garden were great. Also, having a craft beer at "The Free House", a church that has been converted into a drinking place( and painted with fun colours) was wonderful.

Friendliness and facilities were so nice.We had a lovely balcony with table and chairs.Near the beach. The lady I Ispoke to on the phone requesting a bath also came to greet us and she remembered me from our phone call and said enjoy your bath you deserve it. She must have remembered when I spoke to her previously we were going to be tired as we had come from a month of entertaining friends and family. This got us off to a great start. Then we were so happy to see how lovely our unit was.A Wonderful stay
We had a 2nd floor room w/ balcony overlooking the marina- loved the view. Room had microwave, frig, hot water kettle and French press. Nice common dining room w/ continental breakfast provided. Belinda ( manager) couldn’t have been nicer. As was the cleaning staff. Short drive to downtown Nelson, or the other direction to good waterfront restaurants. Bonus was sweet cat, Tiddlywinks, who came around for pets. I would ask for room facing the waterfront- I would not have liked the courtyard facing rooms.
We stayed in a very outdated house. It was clean and all the facilities worked. It was actually very pleasant for our extended family, including some that had a different room in the same hotel. The hotel owner said that this house was going to be either removated or replaced ( I can't remember which). It was great value for money, especially given that we were just passing through and had to stay there because flights were cancelled.
The view was outstanding. Everything in the apartment was exactly as per the pictures. The bed was comfortable, the bird life amazing (tuis, bellbirds, fantails, grey warblers and probably more that I didn't recognise) and did I mention the view? There was even a pair of binoculars which got used a lot! Totally recommend the one bedroom apartment to anyone going to Nelson.
A great location and clean spacious facilities. Lovely owners who made me so very welcome. They gave lots of fantastic recommendations for things to do, cafes, restaurants, etc. Every recommendation was exactly as they described. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Nelson. So great to be back visiting beautiful New Zealand!

Because I'm a bit disabled the shower set up was perfect for me. My son and I went to Nelson to visit unwell family members. Your hotel is perfectly placed, quiet, clean. We will stay in the Beachcomber next time we go to Nelson. We love Nelson. Would love to live there if we could.
Thank you and your nice staff. Diane Waugh & Stefan Pahl.
People staff very nice, helpful clear , Restaurant people.... happy 😁 ,speak clear , even spoke some te reo Maori . Will never forget my 1st ever time staying by myself. Please tell Oliva and Wiremu... My daughter smashed it at bball in Nelson and smashed it in Whanganui making thee rising stars.thank you for making this trip even better.
The whole ambience, a superb example of a traditional English pub in Nelson, New Zealand. The staff were superb, the location is amazing, surrounded on 3 sides with water. Lovely gardens to walk in, the food was excellent quality and great value. The accommodation was great, it was spacious, dual aspect and we wanted for nothing.
We really enjoyed the property gardens, outdoor seating areas, the attached pub and restaurant, and the paved walkways on the peninsula. The ambiance of the old English style was beautiful. We greatly appreciated the option to purchase a late check-out. We easily walked to the airport from the hotel with a rolling suitcase.
This was an awesome place to stay the rooms were clean and tidy and good value for money and modern compared to some of the other motels we stayed at in nelson the hosts made us feel very welcome highly recommend this place. Will definitely to staying there again next time we are in nelson .
We had a very comfortable one bedroom suite with everything we needed. Kitchen was well equipped. Room was spacious and quiet. Host at reception was very helpful with great suggestions for local attractions and restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Nelson, New Zealand.
By far the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed at in a long time. Rooms are fully equipped with new amenities. Easy access in an area with coffee shops, restaurants and a beautiful beach near by. Free secure parking. Owner is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area.
Not only did did David provide the best experience I have ever had at a hotel. I would recommend staying here to anyone. When I’m in nelson again this will be the place I will be prioritizing to stay
Beautifull garden. You can make your own fresh tea with the fresh mint from the garden. The owner is really nice and the loca.tion is close to Nelson center and "center of New Zealand hill".
Hotel is close to the center of Nelson next to a park. Free parking is available on the quiet street in front of the hotel. Nice staff and everything in the room that you would need.
Excellent location for Nelson shops, cafes. Also excellent for walks by the river and upwards to centre of New Zealand monument/view. Quite location. Very helpful reception desk.
Beautiful hotel with great food and easy walk to facilities.
The river outside our room was beautiful
