I can recommend Pomeroy's Cafe.on the opposite side of the Square for their delicious matcha laites. Nelson's many art gallerys are enough to satisfy the most avid art lover with the delightful, meandering walk out through Queens Gardens to Nelson's Suter Art Gallery and cafe, always a highlight.

Nelson is a lovely town, with beautiful hanging baskets and old, unique architecture, close to Tahunanui beach, which is lovely. The Saturday market is great and wandering around Nelson town is fun, there are some good small specialty shops. I enjoyed the museum and the Suter Art Gallery and Queens Gardens. It is also a great base to visit both the Marlborough and the Tasman regions.

The Art and Crafts I saw were excellent.
The Art and Crafts I saw were excellent. The Suter Gallery was a highlight, and I enjoyed the Cathedral. I really enjoyed the walk up to "the centre of N.Z" and the views from there. I had some very good food and liked looking at the architecture - e.g the villas and transitional villas in The Brook. Founders Park and Miyazu Japanese Garden were great. Also, having a craft beer at "The Free House", a church that has been converted into a drinking place( and painted with fun colours) was wonderful.

Friendliness and facilities were so nice.We had a lovely balcony with table and chairs.Near the beach. The lady I Ispoke to on the phone requesting a bath also came to greet us and she remembered me from our phone call and said enjoy your bath you deserve it. She must have remembered when I spoke to her previously we were going to be tired as we had come from a month of entertaining friends and family. This got us off to a great start. Then we were so happy to see how lovely our unit was.A Wonderful stay
The room was nicely appointed and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was spacious with a decent sized shower. Tea/Coffee/Milk were supplied as well as a selection of cups, plates etc suitable for a short stay. There was a small work desk and table inside, and a table with chairs outside. My daughter left a necklace in the room which she realized once we'd left Nelson. The hotel staff were very helpful and were able to find this for her and arranged for it to be couriered to her.
Wonderful view. Very good quality guest accommodation much like a 5* hotel, but attached to the owners home. Hosts were great and most helpful. Tea tray and kettle in room with some nice teas. Fresh milk kept in a communal fridge. Breakfast was lovely and the cooked options were made to order and served in the guest dining room overlooking the deck and sea. A handy few minutes drive from Nelson.
The bed and breakfast was located near the center of town so we could walk to many restaurants for lunch and dinner. Ray and Jules provided an excellent continental breakfast with fresh mixed fruit, cereals, yogurt with granola and breads. They were very helpful and assisted us with all of our needs. I highly recommend staying there if you visit Nelson.
Very fortunate to have found you. We live in Golden Bay and always need a bolt hole to stay when we visit Nelson.
Very close to amenities and Nelson in general. Quiet, despite my intrepidation that the airport was too close, however planes had the decencey to take off after I had woken up. The surroundinding gardens a real bonus.
The whole ambience, a superb example of a traditional English pub in Nelson, New Zealand. The staff were superb, the location is amazing, surrounded on 3 sides with water. Lovely gardens to walk in, the food was excellent quality and great value. The accommodation was great, it was spacious, dual aspect and we wanted for nothing.
I loved this hotel. It was spotlessly clean, in a great location, the staff were welcoming. I really do recommend if you’re looking for a good value stop for a few days in Nelson. There are plenty of eateries, and the beach, nearby, and the bus stop into Nelson is literally outside (and costs just $3 each!).
I loved my 1 bedroom suite. Perfect in all ways. Spa bath was amazing, quite location. Close to shops, and takeaways. Beach 5min walk away. Receptionist was so lovely and welcoming.check in and check out was a breeze. Loved this hotel. It's now my official go to hotel in nelson.
Lovely motel very conveniently located to shops and restaurants. Our room was very clean and quiet. Very helpful and friendly staff. Information office still shut in Nelson so they were very helpful with our questions. Would absolutely recommend this place.
Paulina is amazing. Her place is a little gem, the room was super comfy, it‘s quiet but in walking distance to center of Nelson. shrubs happy to provide you with recommendations and other tips.
And the best of all: make sure not to miss out on her breakfast!!!
I had a large, comfortable room with the pub lounge downstairs plus the use of the backpackers' kitchen and laundry facilities. Only a short drive from Main Street Nelson. Really appreciated the quiet, secure off-street parking.
Large spacious studio room. Good facilities, including a washing machine & dryer. Had a outside balcony Nice large comfortable bed. Very clean. Close to centre of Nelson
We booked a extra night because it was so good
Not only did did David provide the best experience I have ever had at a hotel. I would recommend staying here to anyone. When I’m in nelson again this will be the place I will be prioritizing to stay
Mark and John were exceptionally hosts providing a real home away from home. They provided advice and services that made our stay very memorable and in a perfect location for visiting Nelson.
Great position- can go either into Nelson town or Richmond very easily. Great basic unit. Very obliging owners - gave us access to the shed to store our e bikes. 😊
Great backpackers accommodation, really friendly staff and fellow travelers (long term and short term guests). Exceptional value and located in the center of Nelson
