The rooms were light, bright, and clean. The kitchenette was well appointed, with adequate cooking facilities. The fridge had good capacity with a small freezer compartment and sundry useful electrical appliances (e.g., iron, hair dryer) were on offer. There was a wall mounted television with a good selection of SKY TV channels available on it. Good eateries were immediately adjacent to the motel, the main shopping street was just around the corner, both the Oceanside and Pilot Bay beaches were within easy walking distance, and the geothermal hot pools were a short walk away.
Gateway Motor Inn offers well-appointed rooms with flat-screen TVs and free parking. A 10-minute walk from Mount Maunganui Golf Course, it has barbecue facilities in the garden.

Weather against us, cold and rain. All people working in shops and restaurants super friendly and polite. Appeared genuinely interested in our visit. Great driving around as variety of different styles of housing to see. Beach fabulous, lots to do for all age groups. We really enjoyed our evening at Mamma Mia restaurant, authentic Italian, great service and friendly hospitality. Food yummy, reasonably priced.

Mount Maunganui is a buzzing hive of activity. People love to swim, run, walk around Mauao the maunga and spend time in the sun surfing or swimming. There is so much to do but it is a very busy place and parking is at a premium, that's the only downside.

White sand beaches however there are some dangerous parts to take children to but the rest of the beach is great for children. Theres a nice boardwalk along the beach. Awesome eateries. The mountainis named Mauao and is of indigenous cultural significance. Mauao is cloaked in bush and has a good view at the top. There needs to be a car parking building because there isnt enough car parks during peak times.

A fantastic chill out place or action if required. Easy & challenging walks over The Mount, beautiful beaches, safe swimming, good surf, hot pools for public use by the Mt, loads of quality accommodation, full quota of cafes, restaurants and bars. Great shopping. Incredible weather (mostly). Wonderful coastal location. Awesome for family holidays, couples retreat or a friends getaway. Short drive to Tauranga, and reasonably close driving to Hamilton & Rotorua.
We only had 2 nights/days which wasn't long enough to fully enjoy all available possibilities.
Recommend The Fat Cow bar & restaurant for a great meal and awesome cocktails!
Get your runners on and climb the Mount! Cruise town for great shopping and eats. Loads of breaking places. Icecream by the beach? Yes!

Location was absolutely amazing, central and walking distance to main centre and beach. Luxury Location, Safe and Secure. The apartment was clean, big and spacious. Beds were comfy and warm. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. Highly recommend Atlas Apartments everyone especially to families, groups, couples.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Quest Mount Maunganui. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful! The room was lovely & clean. Such a bonus having a washing machine and dryer if you're staying for a few nights. Super handy to town & the beach. Will definitely stay here again :)
Everything! The location is great, walkable to beach, restaurants, the mount. Apartments are large and comfortable, and they gave us an upgrade to a room with an amazing view of the Mount!! So sweet! Free secured parking is great too. We loved everything about these apartments!
The location was absolutely amazing. Connection straight to Marine Parade Mount Maunganui. The views were fabulous as we faced the beach. It was a stunning weekend, and this accommodation was absolutely perfect for our family to catch-up, relax and enjoy our time together.
Enjoyed the larger size room. Ideal when staying more then one day. Was an excellent home base to come back to. The kitchen lay out was good with a double hot plate included. Bathroom was a good size with spa bath. Will be our "go to " motel from here on. Pool is heated.
Had a fantastic stay at the Pacific Apartments. Had a 3 bedroom apartment with the most fantastic view. The apartment was spacious and extremely comfortable. Staff especially Ray and Viv are fantastic and so very welcoming. Will definitely be staying again.
