Avalon Manor Motel is a 5-minute walk from the Motueka Town, and 1.5 km from the Motueka Golf Links. This 4.5-star property offers barbecue facilities and free parking on site.

Easy place to get to. Owners were very friendly and took you to your room and showed you how the facilities worked etc. Very clean and the room was big, really quiet even with it being on the main road, only a bit of road traffic noise could be heard. Would definitely go back again.

The peace, quiet, relaxed feeling in the middle of the country. Hosts were great. The Eftpos was not working so we had to drive 22kms to go to a bank- that was not fun! Hosts were very pleasant and made us feel at home.

It was a lovely place to stay.

It was a lovely place to stay. You can plan day trips out towards Abel Tasman National Park. You can do coastal or inland. There's a surprise around every corner. Kaiteriteri is beautiful, The Resurgence is amazing and the Caves up the hill are incredible. Seriously though, knowing how much was available to see and do, we'll plan better next time. We were there for a family event, I wish we went further afield like out Golden Bay area, it is all so close and accessible.

It’s been a long time since I was in Motueka.

It’s been a long time since I was in Motueka. The last time would have been 50+ years ago. It’s a very laid back place. I was there for a planned dancing trip. I had booked in a tandem skydive 🪂 and loved it

Nice country town at the gateway of beautiful Abel Tasman National Park. Beautiful and interesting beach and waterways. Lots of pretty gardens in the homes around and The Rose Garden had gorgeous, colourful roses with perfume. Lots of fooderies around. Water taxis up to Abel Tasman.

Motueka is a great little town, we were there for a reunion and had that over two nights at the Motueka RSA. This club is worth a visit as they have great raffles and bar staff are so friendly, they also have a great restaurant and lovely meals.

    Motueka itself is unremarkable.

Motueka itself is unremarkable. It is the surrounding area of Abel Tasman, Kaiteriteri, Riwaka, Mapua, etc., and the vineyards (check out Forsters). It is a great central spot for exploring. We found Takaka nicer, but getting over the hill to Takaka is a pain.

The accommodation was excellent……spacious, quiet & set in a beautiful river valley on a farm. The scenery from the cottage was unreal & is in the hinterland of Motueka, perhaps 30 mins away from the coast! It is easy enough to find with Nav! Peter was helpful about the area & told us about the short walk to the old swing bridge! We were in area of many acres of orchards. Walking trails are nearby…….explored one of the gorges which really needed 4WD!

Our sweet family cabin, the breakfast spread each morning, private patio, shared garden with ample space to enjoy, we had the option to self-cater and cook for ourselves in the outdoor kitchen and mingle with other guests in shared spaces. The cabins on Tudor are quiet, walking distance to Motueka high street and are an ideal base to explore the surrounding attractions. Leah is the ultimate host and so accommodating. A hidden gem, stay if you can!

We are family of four and stayed in the 2 bedroom Unit12. We have booked many 2bdrm units over the years and this one was one of the biggest and best laid out we have stayed in. Unit was located at rear of property, so back from the road, with balcony overlooking a field and the mountains behind Motueka. The balcony area receives all the afternoon sun, very pleasant to sit outside and enjoy a drink and watch the skydivers coming back to earth!

Excellent studio for 2 in a great location. The studio has been thoughtfully built to be comfortable with good materials, modern furnishings, plenty of natural light and space. The studio is easy to find, very central and essy to walk to town. Helena greeted us and showed us how to park before showing the essentials for our stay. We had a great stay and will recommend this studio to anyone travelling to Motueka. Thanks Helena for hosting us.

The cabins are located within an exceptionally beautiful garden, peaceful, quiet and yet full of life. The flowers around our cabin's veranda where an amazing view to wake up to. The decor inside was inviting and cozy, perfect to snuggle in and read a book. Leigh is a really warm host, she made us feel at home immediately. And breakfast was great! Will be back :)

Quiet, peaceful secluded spot but only 5 minutes away from family we were visiting so it was perfect and Motueka is just down the road. The room was big with plenty of space. Kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom was clean. No tv - no worries 🙂. Couldn't ask for more.

We had a very nice apartment, equiped with everything we needed. Very comfortable bed, super soft towels. Jacqui was a very kind and attentive host. We did not try the pool, but she provided pool towels as well for us. If I come to Motueka, I would choose Jacqui's house again.
