The Barn was an amazing place in Mosgiel to stay, such a neat use of space, modern, clean and cosy in a peaceful rural setting. The hosts were so kind that they had lit the fire for us so after our late arriving flight The Barn was nice and warm for us on a very cold winters evening. Great location close to all amenities, highly recommend.

The hosts, Carolyn and Steve, are super nice and very flexible in accommodating our needs. Just a suggestion: the workspace area is a perfect space for makeup; it would be brilliant if there were a big mirror there. ☺️

We were only there as a stopover to Dunedin Hospital but as a base for future trips to the district we would certainly use it as an option for the future. As a motel it was impressive and we would recommend it to future "users".

Mosgiel is a pretty town that has a lot of lovely shops, we were happy to stay in a quiet location with beautiful scenery. Would recommend dining at The Black Sheep. Best restaurant we have been to in a very long time.

Nellys restaurant great meals value for money.
Nellys restaurant great meals value for money. The towns small enough to meander through and if your looking for something specific just ask one of the lovely shop staff/owners. Everyone was most welcoming and friendly, even when i misread the drink and called it marmalade lemonade the waitress had a laugh and even asked if i liked their marmalade lemonade, it Said Homemade.

Lovely old Town with some fabulous old houses, I'm always happy to see a town retain some of its original character. The traffic a breeze, not a rage road in sight. The townsfolk friendly and relaxed. Good cafesin town as well.
We wanted to stay out of the city of Dunedin, so chose Mosgiel as our base. The motel was perfect for our needs. We couldn't have wished for anything more, apart from more time to stay. You could easily spend a week here but we just had the one night. There's plenty of room for suitcases and drawer and hanging space for clothes. We only used the kitchen for breakfast but it seemed to have plenty of cooking utensils to make meals. The outlook from the verandah was lovely, and it was very quiet and peaceful.
Hunters Moon is a beautiful bed and breakfast farm stay out in a serene countryside. It's location is only a few minutes away from Mosgiel township and only kilometers down the road from Dunedin. Being in the country it offers many places to walk plus it's close to Wingatui race track if you want to spend time at the horse races.
The value for money was worth every cent. Good size rooms, most with ensuites, very clean, tidy and welcoming.
Located a few minutes out of Mosgiel, really peaceful. Perfect for dogs, they have a whole meadow to run around in and are allowed inside the units. The unit had a full size kitchen and everything you need to cook a meal, sky TV and free wifi. We ended up going for dinner at Nellie's pub just up the road and the food was fantastic. Really comfy bed in a separate room, has a laundry on-site, covered parking and was really warm.
The barn was very clean, the owners were really easy to work with, they offered to have lights on and fire lit if I was going to be a late checking in. Short drive into Mosgiel where there was a grocery store and lots of restaurants and a quick 15 minute drive to downtown Dunedin.
The staff was polite and helpful, the cleaners didn't move our belongings around without consent and I liked that the area was quiet and peaceful and also easy access unlike some hotels with multiple stories to head up
So clean and well maintained. Friendly and accomodating staff our room was lovely and warm the night we flew in after reception had closed. Perfect for what we were down south for and wanting to be in mosgiel.
perfect for my purposes, clean, comfortable, “real” milk (vs skim milk tubs most hotels & motels use), friendly call when I was on the way but hadn’t made contact
