It was the quintessential B&B traditional experience. Every detail was thoughtfully executed. PETER went above and beyond to help me plan an excursion into the local area. His eggs Benedict were also a highlight!!

We hired ebikes to do the bike trail from Matakana to Omaha Beach, stopping of at the incredible Sculptureum and then Farmer's Daughter for lunch.
Drinks at #8 Wired cellar door and dinner at Sawmill Smoko Room, breakfast treats and fantastic coffee from Ringawera Bakery, and brunch at Market Kitchen... and that was just 2 days' worth!

Great little shops, cafes and restaurants. A short drive from the town and you find yourselves in Tawharanui Regional Park - a sanctuary for native birds, with walking tracks and lovely beaches. We stayed there for a night en route from Tauranga to Bay of Islands - and would definitely visit again.

A lovely village of shops, cafes, beautiful countryside and so near the sea.
We had dinner at the Matakana Market kitchen which was lovely, good food, great wine list, and good service considering the COVID short staff issues.

Beautiful part of New Zealand - wineries, beaches, one of the best farmers markets, great restaurants and much more. A great place for a long weekend away, romantic stay, or even a family holiday near the beach.
It is a tranquil spot, beautifully quiet. On arrival we were tired and the comfy armchair and footstool, along with the wide cushioned window seat were perfect for a rest. The shutters and blinds were very effective in both making the room dark for sleep and allowing in plenty of light in daytime. Matakana village is delightful. The cinema in particular is worth visiting, and there are several bakeries, cafes etc.
Fabulous stay. Facilities clean and all amenities available. Set in a lovely location with natural bush back ground and areas to sit or walk and enjoy the local wild life. We enjoyed a visit to the Sculptureum and shopping in Matakana village. A perfect stay and perfect weekend. The Bali theme felt authentic and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Thank you so much.
- fabulous location. 5 mins to Omaha Beach, 5 mins to Matakana and beautiful views of the estuary. Very quiet.
- great deck with outdoor seating and dining
- decent kitchen, equipped with a good range of appliances.
- spacious living area with large tv on the wall
- 2 decent sized double bedrooms. Might feel tight for 4 people. But good for 2 friends or a couple.
The location was right behind main street. Great restaurants and shops in this quaint town. The bed was excellent. Room was super clean. BBQ grill worked great. Hotel owners were very friendly and helpful--gave us a great restaurant recommendation. Very welcoming! A wonderful place for families with kids' playground and trampoline.
We loved our stay at Low House! It was a wonderful getaway after our wedding to relax and rest, and low house was so peaceful, quiet and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - we liked how close to Matakana shops it is located, the quite street, privacy and comfortable finishings. Thanks so much, Lily & Jason
This property enjoys a beautiful location, minutes from Matakana. Surrounded by extensive gardens and a vineyard the villas are modern, clean, comfortable and private. The icing on the cake is the exceptional hospitality you receive from the hosts Denise and Nick
Very peaceful and beautifully decorated in a quiet country location only minutes away from.Matakana. Ideal for couples wanting a special place for two or three days to explore and relax. Very good internet if you have to work remotely. All in all a real gem.
The rooms are clean. Matakana Hotel rooms provide the basic necessities, with a small kitchenette. Shades & blinds are provided for the glass front wall and the sliding glass entrance door. Coin laundry is available.
Marilyn and her husband were so friendly and helpful during our stay. They provided tips about the local area. The property is centrally located and you can walk to everything in the village.
It was so noticeable not having to have an air conditioner going all night to keep the room warm which most hotels you have to put up with - loved it - modern, comfortable, clean, spacious :)
Beautiful interiors. All the little details are thought of for our stay. Comfy bed too. Toasty warm apartment. Convenient shortcut through the garden to Matakana village.
