Motels which are on the main State Highway one can be busy and unless adequately sound proofed you should try and avoid them or use ear plugs for sleeping, also the speed limit determines the degree of road traffic noise and also the main rail line runs through the town and at least 3 freight train thunder through during the night which are as noisy as the trucks.

Levin is a lovely little town.
Levin is a lovely little town. Close to a beautiful beach and was convenient to where we were staying. We were only there for 1 day and a night but we had great service at the Cafe where we had afternoon tea. It was close enough to Wellington Airport to drive to on the morning of our flight back home. We will definitely visit again and explore some more, the next time we are in New Zealand!

We ate at Rongali Indian restaurant and had a great meal. As we were visiting for a family celebration, we did not do the touristy thing, but drove around the area. Always a great place to visit as it is central to Foxton, Kapiti and Palmerston North.
Otaki is still a bottle neck of traffic.

There's a great choice of accommodation.
There's a great choice of accommodation. Levin Adventure Park is a must if passing through-kids and parents will love it to take a break from the travelling. If you like Indian food the Star of India on Oxford Street I highly recommend. Also the Hell Pizza caravan opposite New World on Oxford Street. Amazing service- Pizzas are fabulous and the lamb shanks are a must to try as are the sides. Dont' leave Levin without a taste from Hell Pizza and Star of India.

Nothing to fault, Loved our 5 days / nights at the Levin Kiwi Holiday park, peaceful during the festive season just right for us away from the busy Wellington with family quality time, just us and our children. We had dinner at the local Rangoli Indian Restaurant for our 13 years old son's birthday of his choice. Was easy to get around Levin no problem as everything was central. Highly recommended if you just want to get away from the City.
Thank you Levin for a great family time.
Everything about the room was amazing, clean, convenient and comfortable. Convenient in the sense that everything you needed was in the room from toiletries, kitchen appliances, free WiFi and the location is great as you're on the main road of Levin and you're close to shops and restaurants. Loved how clean the room was and how soundproof it was as I didn't hear a single sound from next door rooms. Beds were so comfortable, had a great soundless sleep.
Visually, the property was stunning and full of promise: green, natural surroundings, and a lot of care had been taken with creating the facilities. It is also not far from Levin - though felt a world away - and just up the road from the Greek Monastery which was definitely worth checking out.
Really nice one bedroom unit. The host had turned on the heating so it was lovely and warm. Nice shower. Comfy bed. Nice linen. More spacious than a hotel. Couldn’t fault it for the price.
