Property was super clean and the facilities were perfect. Bathroom was awesome!
Ceiling shutter for in room stargazing was next level!
Even though it was a super cool night on our stay the rooms temperature was warm.
Breakfast in the morning was great too!
All the staff that were working during our stay were very kind and attentive.
We didn’t get a perfectly clear night for stargazing, but it was still amazing. Lake tekapo is clearly the place for it, and galaxy boutique hotel is definitely the place to stay!

It's a quaint old heritage cabin that's been converted into a comfortable place to stay, nestled in a wooded area, away from the bustling crowd but within easy walking distance of everything. Our host was also brilliant.

I'm a kiwi who lived overseas for 22 years and am still amazed at the beauty of areas in NZ. Tekapo is one such place.
Jack Rabbit is a super cafe.....with lovely views and good coffee. Service is superb.
Tekapo Springs is fun for the family. We know a local family whose kids play ice hockey and we loved going along to their practise. But it was freezing cold!
The village is easy to walk around with several things to do.

Tiny little village with supermarket , tourist shops and cafe and restaurants. Some of the restaurants when we stayed in June appeared to be not open scenery is stunning and you would definitely go on a star gazing tour at nite to see the Milky way. We went with chameleon highly recommend that outfit. We had 3 nites which was plenty The town is about half way between Queenstown and Christchurch so makes for an ideal stopping point. Easy access to Mt Cook as well as lots of other stunning scenery. So peaceful and tranquil just the area to chill and relax.

I always stop in Tekapo to eat and look at the view. It was the first time I stayed in the town. It was really cool to go to the hotpools, which I didn't even know existed, and explore more of the local restaurants.

We we very disappointed with our stay and would only recommend it as a last resort.
The room was clean and adequate, but was small and pokey, and the long hallways narrow. The view was partially obscured by other buildings.
The hotel restaurant is closed at night, so no in house bar or food.
We found an excellent restaurant in front of the lake.
Overall ,overpriced and barely adequate… there must be somewhere better?

I have been going there since 1987 and it has never lost its charm. The lake is a beautiful turquoise colour. Mount John is a great place to see the Southern Alps. Mount Cook is nearby. There is a ski field in winter. It is an easy drive from Queenstown or Christchurch.
I stayed in one of the cabin rooms with shared bathrooms, and the cabin was very modern and nice, w a comfy bed and space for my luggage. I really liked that it was right next to the lake and the hot pools, and it was really nice to walk the 5-10mins along the lake to the shops for breakfast. I thought this place was really great value! Staff were really helpful and had good recommendations for star gazing tours. Be aware these cabins were right next to the backpackers area, so a little busy.
This is probably my best stay ever in Tekapo, comparing to my previous stay in hotels/motels.
Location - very close to town centre
Kitchen - great kitchen with gas stoves and a big oven
Dining room & lounge - open design with a large dining table
Rooms - very comfortable
* Balcony - this is the highlight of this property. Instead of heading to the lake side, we could easily turn off the lights and sit comfortably on the couch on the balcony to enjoy the night and stargazing.
This was our 2nd stay within a week and everything about this boutique hotel is exceptional. The staff are warm and welcoming, the rooms are beautiful with endless lake and Mountain views, so close to everything that Lake Tekapo offers and the complimentary breakfast is simply amazing. We plan to stay here every time we visit the area, definitely earned its 5 star rating, an absolute stunner!
Wonderful tiny house with an amazing view of Lake Tekapo. Modern and clean with well-equipped kitchen. Good internet. Shower was fantastic. Skylight above the bed was a bonus -- seeing the southern hemisphere sky on a clear night was fantastic. As others have remarked, do not use GPS mapping to find it, but instead follow the directions given by the host.
Lake Tekapo, and the Lakes Holiday Park are stunning. The Park is well laid out, friendly service and in a great location.
The cabin we stayed in was excellent, very comfy and warm, and just a few steps down to the lake. Even better to sit outside at the outdoor table to enjoy the evening and view the full moon.
We had exceptional views of lake Tekapo, sunrise and sunset from the comforts of the accommodation. There were some street lamps but the area remains dark enough to capture shots of the night sky. My elderly parents had a clean, warm and comfortable stay during winter, we have fond memories of the time spent there!
Host was friendly location was good not to far to walk too the shopping centre and the house was very clean /tidy and warm. The weather was perfect with beautiful night sky views.Lake Tekapo is such a beautiful place so glad we did a stop over here.
Look forward to our next stay… love Lake Tekapo
Oh this place has the WOW factor.
Superb views of Lake Tekapo, super clean, comfortable beds, FANTASTIC kitchen with so much room and so well equipped. The Hist John us a lovely man who went out of his way to help us. Friendly staff. Such a great place to stay. I’ll definitely be back 👍😊
The view was great as we were able to see stars and milky way in outdoor patio also with Lake Tekapo's view in the morning Great kitchen equipment with a complete cooking utensil set. Indoor fireplace was our favorites place to gather with our kids. The staff is also very helpful.
Lots of little touches which really make a difference. The heating was turned on before we arrived (we stayed in winter). Nespresso machine to enjoy a coffee in bed at the amazing views. Lovely toiletries and little drawing memento to remember our Lake Tekapo visit.
Lake Tekapo was a beautiful place, away from the city. The hotel is situated not far from the lake’s edge and our room had a scenic view from the front windows. Good restaurant on site as well as walking distance to others.
The location of the cottage was great, close to the town centre and the lake. Friendly, helpful manager. The cottage is basic and a bit dated, but it's one of the cheaper options in Lake Tekapo and has everyting you need.
friendly staff on reception, room very clean and comfortable, although hotel is on main state highway - you couldnt hear any road noise. Our room had great view over Lake Tekapo
