Large area with a great outdoors space. Definitely a great place to stay if you are visiting the bay of islands, which was one of my favorite places in New Zealand. We had one room with a lot of area, and another with very little area, so that was interesting.

The welcoming was friendly and special. Lionel welcomed us with a lovely sign and welcome drinks. The facilities are incredible. You don’t need anything at all because it’s all supplied. My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The pool is lovely. The bed is extremely comfortable. We loved the little treats that we got every day when we came back from our time out exploring. The breakfast is amazing as well. A very special place and great for time out and to relax. Thank you Lionel and Rob for being amazing hosts. We loved our stay!!! And would highly highly recommend.
Comprising an outdoor swimming pool and a garden, Garden View on Hone Heke Kerikeri is a recently renovated accommodation in Kerikeri set close to Kemp House and Stone Store.
Kaikohe is home for us. Our whānau and friends ade there bit i prefer to have my own space to come away to after a big day with my whānau (a place to just chill and relax).
Kaikohe has everything you need walking distance from laundrettes to somewhere to buy groceries. Also had some really cool places to go explore in and outside of town, Monument Hill in Kaikohe, bike trails, Ngawha Springs for a nice soak in the natural thermal pools, go for a drive to see Tane mahuta, drive to Opononi. Plenty places to explore.

Clean, parking, accessible and secure - people were generally friendly and welcoming - its hometown and has good coffee and hot food available in the Main Street. For a town that has been bashed in the media - it still has heart and good people and opportunities - it will see brighter days again.

Small town, not much scenery around nor accommodation options.
Bar food at a pub or McDonald’s were the only options for dinner on the Wed we stayed.
A couple of nice cafes open in the morning till afternoon.
Not recommended for the tourists

Unfortunatlery Kaikohe has fallen on hard times and whilst there are some very good cafes open during the day, there was nothing open at night that got even close to a restaurant so dining out whilst staying in a hotel whose restaurant and bar was closed, was a problem. However the hotel is fabulous ad well worth the stay and the fact that Kaikohe is at the highest point on the Twin Coast Cycle Trail was a a real bonus so we made do and drove to Pahia which is about 25mins away for a great dining experience. It was very nice of the hotel to provide a dining area but how many takeaways do you want to eat? I hope the dining experience is improved because it is a beautifully restored buildng and very comfortable. And all credit to the owners who have tried to provide a quality facility in a town that needs tourism.

The staff were friendly and helpful.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Very organised and gave us somewhere to store bikes overnight. Very good shuttle service to get us and our bikes back to start of bike track. Turned up on time with an excellent friendly driver who told us lots of history of the town which made the trip back, go very quickly.

A good central location for the Twin Coast Discovery trail.
A good central location for the Twin Coast Discovery trail. Unfortunately not many options for dinner open at the moment. The Pioneer Museum is definitely worth a visit to gain some more knowledge on the local history.
