Love the Ascott. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We had dinner at the restaurant. The chicken parmy was delicious. The kids loved the pool. Rooms were really nice. Beds super comfy.

The location was great. The apartment was clean and tidy and the bed in the bedroom was comfortable. Good lounge and kitchen facilities. The staff were friendly and provided an extra duvet when requested.

Invercargill gets a bad rap for being a cold city at the bottom of the South Island, but there's plenty to do and see, rain or shine, and there's nothing wrong with bad weather - just bad clothing! haha!
Queen's Gardens has a great playground, is dog friendly and has a small animal park, where a new Tuatara enclosure will open. The Classic Motorcycle Museum and Transport museum are also my favourites, and within 30 minutes you can be walking on soft sandy beaches, exploring old forests, or travelling to Stewart Island!

Invercargill is a great place to visit, plenty to do and see in the area.
Queens park is a must to walk through and around - a really beautiful park
Oreti beach is awesome as you can drive your car along part of it - not many beaches where you can do that!
Riverton & Bluff aren't too far away to travel to while you are in Invercargill - they are definately worth the visit
Bill Richardson Transport world is a cool place to visit as well, with a huge range of olden day vehicles to see.

Great auto museum and seeing Burt Munro’s bike at E Hayes Hardware. Also a trip out to Ōreti beach where he practised racing his bike and then onto Bluff and then Riverton, Colac Bay, Cosy Nook etc and onward to Gemstone beach was well worthwhile. These are all things you can do regardless of the weather.

Unfortunately the visitors centre was closed in 2020, so there was no information about what to see and how to achieve this. We were recommended to visit Stewart Island, apparently being the main attraction. You needed to book online but there was no information
about the trip. At a cost of $200 each, rather expensive. Drove to Bluff to find out for ourselves, 30 kms but even less information. Very disappointing. Not much in the way of restaurants unless you are in to Asian food. One shopping centre, not much in it.

Nice flat walking, the new mall has all the usual shops plus some additional surprises. Shopping is great, streets very clean, Queens Park is lovely and well cared for and there is a lot of city centre development going on with improvements for locals and visitors alike. Amigos restaurant if you like chili and Mexican food is worth a try.

Great city on the up.
Great city on the up. Good selection of eateries and things to do and see. Most attractions are fairly close to the centre, and the airport is 5 minutes from there. I can happily recommend Invercargill for a visit.
A beautiful feel good place to stay. From the moment we opened the door it was fabulous. So much to look at. Beautifully decorated and clean. The lolly room was as it said and a delight from the Eskimo lollies on the wall to the luxurious linen bedding.
Breakfast was included as well as a little treat bag. The attention to detail is second to none.
If staying in Invercargill this is a must. As is Transport World and the newest addition Toot Sweet.
Thank you for a memorable stay We highly recommend.
The Villa Rouge is in a beautiful old house in a quiet neiborhood in Invercargill. Our room was very comfortable. The house is extensively decorated with beautiful artwork. The hosts are delightful. We would stay there again and recommend it to others. We used this as a staging stop for taking the ferry to Stewart Isalnd. Invergargill is a relatively large city with many services. We stumbled on an excellent breakfast in the motercycle museum downtown.
A very nice place to be staying at in Invercargill if you’re wanting to be close to town but also want to be away from too much town noise. Very comfy bed, fantastic shower pressure, affordable, peaceful. Wifi is very fast too. Very clean and tidy, everything is working as they should. Friendly owners too. So much better than the hotels/motels in town. I Highly recommend this place 👍🏻👍🏻
Comfortable bed with a large, clean bathroom. The location is what I would consider at the edge of walkable distance to the center of town—no real complaints for anyone needing a short stay in Invercargill. Close enough to everything you need in a pinch, like supermarkets. TV, microwave, a mini-fridge, and a large closet round out a well-supplied room to stay in.
This place was a much nicer than expected. It was more like a home than a hotel. Would highly recommend especially for families. Super quiet, loads of parking both near our room and on the street. The kitchen and living area were both much larger than I realized. If you are staying in Invercargill this is a fantastic hotel.
Pretty good staff was welcoming and accommodating with breakfast and towels and parking space... it felt like staying in a low budget AirBnB - in a good way :)
It would be much better if the rooms were deep cleaned at least once a month and bathroom were deep cleaned once a week - at the very least once a forthnight.
The hotel is in a good location, close to eateries, shops and bars. The staff were friendly. It's a budget hotel, however the room was fine, and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was functional. The hotel's parking included unlimited entry and exit.
The apartments have all what you need and they are spotless. The staff at the reception (young Philipino lady, I'm sorry I forgot the name) is exceptional and really accommodating. We will definitely stay again if we need to go to Invercargill.
We have stayed at the Quest Invercargill a few times now. The room is spacious, modern and very comfortable. Being right in the centre of town is so convenient. The staff are always welcoming and helpful.
Great location. Easy parking. Brand new luxury accommodations. Very comfortable room with spacious bathroom that includes soaking tub. Great staff. Lots of dining options right in hotel.
Location was excellent as it allowed easy access to everything we wanted to do in a quieter location than some of the motels in Invercargill. Also it was very comfortable accommodation.
A great self contained cabin situated on a rural property just out of Invercargill. Really enjoyed our stay in this quiet and peaceful location. Well equipped and very comfortable.
Quiet neighborhood, walk to Queens Gardens, parking included next to apartment (need car in Invercargill) You could see owners/managers making improvements. Plugs by beds.
The room’s decor, while probably very cheap and from kmart, looked very nice. I loved the spa bath - very rare to find this in a hotel for such a low price. The bed was comfy.
