20 minutes away from the Tasman River Hike and Hooker Valley Hike, you couldn't ask for more. Views of snow capped mountains and the stunning Mt Cook too. Breathtaking scenery, I just sat and looked at the view. The cabin was comfy, and all the staff fantastic.

The facilities were simple but still cosy and very lovely! The family who runs the cabins are also hospitable and friendly. This was one of our favourite experiences while visiting NZ

Very cosy lounge and dining areas and outside seating areas, all with vast mountain views. Decent sized kitchen, big enough for everyone. Lots of hot water. Comfy beds. Sauna is a bonus. Drying room for damp or wet gear and washing. Could have stayed another week.
Awesome landscape views and friendly info center staff, but...
Awesome landscape views and friendly info center staff, but some tourist sites such asTasman Glacier and White of the toilets had signs "Closed during Winter", which was so inconvenient for tourists.
Not so many people during the first night, there is a toilet and a sink in the dorm so that's good.
A good surprise, they provide a towel for all the guests.
It's quite rare to see that for backpackers.
I drove from Picton to Glentanner (8 hours drive) it's really good that they let you do a late check-in.
It's not completely indicated in their description but they let your key in the mailbox with the instruction.
The Glentanner center is located about 15min drive from Mount Cook. It is situated next to the water and surrounded by mountains. We enjoyed the common spaces, with kitchen and lounge. Also, appreciated that in the hostel bunk bed room there was a small bathroom. Everyone was respectful and quiet, it was easy to get rest.
Excellent view of my.cook from property. Neat and clean property. Communal bathroom and kitchen is also spacious and clean with full sets of utensils. Dining room is also spacious. This is good option for hermitage hotel/motel. Good value of money. I recommend to stay.
The location was excellent with a view of Mt Cook! We were able to do a helicopter ride from Glentanner with a glacier landing that could not have been more amazing. We were thrilled!
We also saw the Milky Way both nights of our stay.
