The whole motel was perfect. It's honestly the best one I've stayed in.

The location was great for us as we where travelling from Christchurch to Picton to catch the Ferry. Room was good for one night for the 3 of us and the price we paid was even better

Graeme and Karen are wonderful hosts. We loved the super comfy bed and the room was so nicely presented. We cooked on the BBQ and ate breakfast in the sun. The view was also impressive.

Cheviot is a great place to stop to break up a long road trip. I would definitely recommend staying at the Cheviot Camp, Cabins and Motel. The Number 8 Coffee Shop is also wonderful. We were not impressed with the Cheviot Hotel restaurant. It's overpriced and we did not enjoy the food.

The Conway River View Cottage is a wee way from Cheviot, so I can only review the Conway River/Conway Flats area - it is absolutely lovely. A great place to escape the rat race :) As a writer, I enjoy places that inspire me - and this certainly did that. I could have lived there very comfortably.

Great accommodation.
Great accommodation. Excellent room - very clean and well organised. Attention to detail with little extra touches - small Easter eggs, biscotti, slippers etc.
Breakfast was lovely with home cooked muesli, stewed fruit and bread.
Lovely gardens and amazing views across the valley and to the mountains. A lovely spa pool in a position to admire the spectacular views.

The golf course is good to play and the members are friendly. Dinner at the hotel as this is the only place open in the evenings but the food is ok. Breakfast was at the Mt Beautiful tasting room and it was delicious and great value.

Cheviot has a lot to offer; it's not just a stop off on the way North or South (although it's great for that, too). The Anglican church has Byrne Jones stain glass windows - really beautiful. Gore Bay is a lovely destination with the tourist drive taking in the Cathedral Cliffs. Driving or wandering through the Domain is also a delightful way of getting away from it all. Don't miss out on seeing St. Anne's lagoon a few kms north of Cheviot - a beautiful, tranquil place. Two Rivers serves an amazing steak sandwich amongst other yummy food and the tea rooms further up the road have excellent tea & coffee & good kai.
