Clean, warm and bedding, cutlery, cooking utensils including pans were provided. Fridge also available in the cabin.
The bathroom facilities were clean and the shower had great water pressure and super warm/hot. No time limit on shower from what I experienced.

Lovely cottage with everything we need. Great view looking out from the living hall, with many sheeps nearby. A good place to unwind after a long haul flight.

We asked if they had a laundry and the man I asked who I presume was the manager said he would give us a basket to put our laundry in and do it for us. When I asked how much that would cost he said nothing and I will bring your laundry back to you clean which he did. I’ve travelled in NZ and all over the world and never had this sort of service. He was professional and very polite. I would stay here again.

a delightful location with plenty of space with the domain and lake with ducks and waterrace which kept my 5 year old amused. Right next door to Plains railway which is always great fun. We also discovered the aviation museum with an enexpectedly eclectic collection. A great stay.

We liked the convenience of having a cabin where we didn't need to bring anything. The pond was really lovely and we enjoyed feeding the ducks (poohs were a bit smelly and sticky though) and playing on the playground.
It was a long way out of town though. Going to the toilet in the night was dark and uncovered and the door in the cabin was very noisy and hard to shut.

I wanted to share some positive feedback regarding my experiences in Ashburton. It is a beautiful town that I have enjoyed visiting on several occasions while traveling down south. Ashburton has many appealing qualities that make it an interesting and welcoming destination.
One of the standout features of Ashburton is its proximity to the ski fields, making it an excellent base for winter sports enthusiasts. Additionally, the town boasts a variety of excellent eateries and a diverse selection of shops, offering visitors a wide range of dining and shopping options. For a town of its size, Ashburton has a lot to offer, contributing to its charm and appeal.
Moreover, the friendly nature of the residents adds to the overall positive experience. The warmth and hospitality of the people in Ashburton make each visit enjoyable and memorable.
Overall, Ashburton is a delightful town with much to offer. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Ashburton was a short stop over 1 night stay on our way to Dunedin and further south. I would recommend Kelly’s cafe on the Main Street. I probably wouldn’t return to Ashburton unless I was just passing through. The beach had the most amazing flat round smooth stones if you are into stone painting at all.

Perfect for the overnight stop to do a local meal and a show at the event centre.
But I would be more than happy to stay for a few days at this quiet, well-set-up large motel. With more programs to work from on the TV than most homes anytime.

You get what you pay for. Definitely the place we will stay each time we pass through, it’s not perfect but it’s better than other places. Nice staff. Nice room, I wish the cleanliness was a little better but aside from that a convenient place to stay.

I liked the fact that everything I needed was on either of the main streets (both the shops street and the by-pass road). People are pleasant and helpful, and Ashburton doesn't feel too big or touristy. A great place to stay if you want to use as a base to explore other activities in the area.
Everything was clean and tidy and a very reasonable price for a one night stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm. We didn't have a reason at the moment to stay longer but do know that Ashburton is a great place to visit.
so clean and homely. This is my second stay this year as I really liked it the first time I stayed. This motel is now my go to motel when passing through Ashburton. I love that the wifi is real wifi and not the coupon system.
