It was a pub with in the evening a party and music. That’s what I like about the location. Friendly people en very good food! I’ll absolutely recommend this stay. Also because it’s a good location to travel the island with some nice hotspots.

Initially, I was a bit confused when I entered the hostel, because no staff was around and I didn't receive any directions on where to go and which room was gonna be mine. But my initial doubts were falsified soon after.
The hostel is super cute with old-fashioned furniture. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living room is cozy. But most importantly, it is extremely clean. Very good value for money, would definitely stay again.

Great view (but unfortunately we had had bad weather). We booked the suite for one night. Best beds we've ever had in a hotel and we will remember the underfloorheating in the bathroom :). All rooms, including the breakfast-room, were tastefully furnished. We added breakfast. It was outstanding. Nice conversation and quick response. We were very satisfied and would book again.

Due to the Royal Wedding in Norway on Aug 31, 2024, my bus from Hellesylt to Maloy was cancelled (for security reasons?). I was stranded in Hellesylt and needed to take a cab to Maloy arriving later than the estimated arrival time. The woman doing check-in was very helpful to me. The room was comfortable. They have a late checkout which allowed me to catch up on some needed sleep. Norway was occupied for five years during WWII. You might find that the Maloy (pronounced like the last two syllables of guacamole) Raid Centre of Interest. Locals made numerous trips from here to the Shetland Islands during WWII saving many lives. The town honours these people who took those risks to this day. Also, one can get the Norled ferry from here to Bergen which is an inexpensive lovely 6 hour coastal ride.
