Practically every thing. Remote parking a bit tight and slightly inconvenient, but very understandable given the historical location of the hotel. Staff are the very best. One of the nicest more unique hotels we have ever stayed at!

I loved that it wasn't very big, yet there was plenty to do there, and it was beautiful as well. I really enjoyed hiking up around the Aksla. There were plenty of excursions that could be done from there, and the scenery was gorgeous. It was very easy getting around the town, whether on fun or via public transportation, and it was relaxing.

Alesund is very beautiful seen from above so make sure you go to Aksla viewpoint where you arrive.
You will love the city if you love the Art Nouveau style.
I am not a fan of this type of architecture so I was not amazed by the city while I was walking in. There is a bit of lack of life and it's very quiet.
However, the landscapes and the nature all around the city is absolutly stunning so this is a great reason to visit this town.

Great city to end my trip around the famous Norwegian Fjords. Clean and walkable city center. Don’t miss out on the 400 steps to the view point above the park. A few restaurants to choose from. Visit the Ålesund aquarium and take a stroll around the old harbor area.

Alesund is a nice town, with much to see.
Alesund is a nice town, with much to see. We only thought that there wasn't a lot to do in the evening. For excursions there is plenty of possibilities. Two days is enough for me. Nice that we have seen this.

We were there too late in the season to do the things we wanted to do. The fjord trip was great, but I was hoping to get to Geiranger and Trollsteigen. A pretty place, but not much to see or do in October.

Ålesund is not a nice stay for people who enjoy nature.
Ålesund is not a nice stay for people who enjoy nature. We did the walk to the summit but that was all we enjoyed. So glad we did not stay two nights. It’s a very strange place with few places to eat.
We arrived at the hotel at 12.30am after disembarking from our cruise and there was someone there to welcome us. Our room was very comfortable and there was a lot of space. The bathroom was very nice with a hot shower. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choices. Shame I did not have time to try the gym as we stayed only one night. The hotel is very convenient for staying before or after a cruise and it is centrally situated. Check-out is at 12.00 so we had time to explore Alesund before our flight.
It’s a little out of town but worth it for the ambience of the property. We were warmly welcomed and helped with suggestions for dinner and parking in the centre of Alesund. Our room was more like a suite, very spacious and richly furnished in keeping with era of the house. The bathroom was larger than some hotel rooms we’ve had and well equipped. Breakfast was plentiful and delightfully served on a tiered platter and crystal dishes. Made us feel like royalty.
This was by far the best apartment I have stayed during my travels in Norway. The apartment has everything you can possibly want. Check in and check out is very easy. Grocery store is 1min walking distance. Although the communication with the host is only through Booking messages, she was very nice and friendly.☺️ I definitely recommend this apartment for your stay in Alesund. You will feel like home.☺️
Owner was super helpful. The TV was only tuned to Apple and without an account we couldn't watch anything - the owner lent us his personal account to watch it - we discovered Ted Lasso! Thanks for that. Apartment is superbly located right opposite Ålesund Kirk, a short walk down into town. The criticisms below are minor, this is a great place to stay, and much cheaper than a single room in a good hotel
THis was an out of the box destination, full of wonders, history and uniqueness. THis 1910 house is full of skilled wooden carvings, historic furniture , and character. Next door is the wonderful outdoor Viking village complete with ships, grass-roofed cabins, and a well done museum. Having no car, we took the local efficient public bus into Alesund for dinner.
I have been in Ålesund multiple times, and this place so far is the best one for this price! Very well furnished and clean. Also the view from the balcony is tremendous. Inger, the manager of the apartment helped me with a few questions. She was really nice & professional. I am more than satisfied and will return again in future. Highly recommended!
Simple accomodation with a great location just a few blocks away from most anything you want to see in Alesund. Stayed in double room w/ shared bath. Large common room and kitchen areas were nice. Historic building but very clean, updated and well maintained. Rolf was a very graciousl host who went out of his way to help. He made us feel welcome.
The hotel is located in more central, rugiger Kage in Alesund and has an exceptional charm. Old and new have been superbly combined. We would like to emphasize the unobtrusive, courteous and friendly service and the excellent breakfast. The hotel is anything but standard in the best sense.
This accommodation is very cheap, has a washing machine for your clothes (bring your own powder), a drying rack and a kitchen with the basic equipment for cooking (bring your own consumables). It works well as a pitstop, and this was our plan for the 2 nights in Alesund.
The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of options and was very good. The staff is nice.
The hotel is in the city centre, near the pear and the station. It’s easy to walking to the most interesting points. Perfect to stay in Ålesund.
Nice location by the sea. Easy to get there by car.
The 4 people cabin had a VERY basic stuff to cook.
The bathroom was OK, probably the cleanest part of the cabin.
The price was acceptable for Norway, but I've seen better for less money.
The hotel is close to bus route 65 that goes to the Ålesund airport. The lobby, bar, and restaurant are attractive.
The restaurant food was quite good.
