The location is excellent, right on the canal. Breakfast is more than enough to start the day. There were two bunk beds and one queen-sized bed in our room. There wasn't any storage place or wardrobe but they were not necessary for a single night stay, either. The beds and pillows were comfortable.

The location was perfect, close to everything including the bus stop to continue our journey to Gouda. The house is on the main canal so it was very easy to find anything we wanted. The house itself is so charming and cute. It’s right on the corner so there are canals on three sides of the property. The decor of the house is so cute with lots of space. We enjoyed having a glass or two of wine outside by the canal. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Great location within easy walking distance of the main village. Quiet and clean. There are two apartments for rent. We didn't even hear whomever was in the other apartment.

Giethoorn is the Venice of the Netherlands, it’s beautiful...
Giethoorn is the Venice of the Netherlands, it’s beautiful even though the weather was not brilliant during our stay but the place is amazing and I can imagine will be packed come Summer. We went during the Easter long weekend and still enjoyed the place.
Will definitely go back again ☺️

2. Over 2 nights would be too much I think.
3. It's so nice to walk around not just in the center, of course with nice weather is important.
4. It's great to have 2hr boat ride with great weather, was so comfortable and the guide was so great.

Giethoorn is one of many places nicknamed Northern Venice...
Giethoorn is one of many places nicknamed Northern Venice and the resemblance with its canals is definitely there. But the nickname almost doesn't do the town its justice. It has a lot more natural scenery to offer and is much more peaceful. A great destination for someone who is for instance cycling through the country.

This a very nice and special area, it worth walking and taking a boat trip. We were there at the end of the summer in mid September, it was not too crowded. I think it is nice in the winter also, they said that the canals usually frozen and ice-skating is possible.

A great place to visit however the weather plays a key role on how much you will enjoy. Never visit this place if it raining.
Good time to spend 1 day around the water ways.
Great cycling track and prefer to rent a bycyle to visit nearby villages which are equally beautiful.
Simply outstanding in all aspects: the house located in a beautiful garden, next to the canal, easy access by car just before the street becomes pedestrian so you can park the car right at the house, then stroll into beautiful Giethoorn village.
The owners have spared no expenses to extensively equip the house: the kitchen and living rooms are absolutely fabulous, you could cook for a large family. Everything works well and is sparkling new.

The hotel itself it beautiful. It sits right along the canal and is in easy walking distance to the bus stop, restaurants and a supermarket.
Even more than the hotel itself, the staff are incredible. I had a very unfortunate incident (left my purse on the bus!) and Mariska went above and beyond to help me get it back. She never seemed put out or annoyed even though I was certainly freaking out. Her patience and calm demeanor helped me stay calm until I was reunited with my purse!
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Bed & Breakfast Giethoorn. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, with a large comfortable bed and a relaxing view of a beautiful field. We were served breakfast at the time of our choice, in the privacy of our living room. Homemade and with a wide selection of foods, it was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had at a B&B. Overall, it was a very nice experience. Thanks!
the place is close to the real giethoorn. 3 minutes to the romantic system of canals, but actually one of the canals is right in front of the hotel. the boat-rental is just at the next house, the dinner with the best rib in Holland is really perfect. parking is okay, 50 meters from the house in the main parking area
The location is perfect. 10 minutes by car to the Giethoorn. You can walk around the canal. There is a cow farm there with baby cows. KFC is 10 minutes drive away. It is a farm stay. The room was clean, the bed for comfy, the breakfast was good. Free parking right in front of the place.
My third stay at The Black Sheep and I hope some day to return. I love everything about this hostel. A super friendly helpful staff. pristine clean, plentiful breakfast, and all in the most peaceful village in The Netherlands. Very comfortable beds. Totally relaxing atmosphere.
We stayed for only 12 hours. It was a comfortable stay. The host was very nice and explained and showed us everything around the apartment. It was very clean. Not exactly within the picturesque Giethoorn area but it did have water view since it overlooked the water/canal.
The hotel is near the bus stop, easy to get there. We also like the bed and heater in the room. We went to Giethoorn in winter. Although it’s freezing outside, the room is very warm that we could enjoy our night there. Definitely recommend here.
This has been the best experience in hotel stay ever. Esther was so friendly and accomodating. The room is spacious & clean, breakfast is delicious, the location cannot get any better (super close to the Binnenpad). Highly recommend!
