We like the slightly out of town locations as it is quiet and we need secure motorcycle parking. It was quiet and whilst the bikes were off the road, they were not as secure as we would have liked - that said, it was a nice neighbourhood.
The room was very clean and we loved the outside toilet/shower - quirky but really functional. No hot water but certainly warm enough.
No AC but the fan/s were more than enough for a comfortable night. Mosquitto net over the bed.
Good hanging space and shelves.
Pool was very very nice. Bungalows are hidden from each other with great landscaping.
Breakfast was good.
Staff very helpful.

El convento is a quiet place and very nice to just sip your coffee in the morning before heading out. The staff has been very helpful when I arrived at 9 pm hurt after a descent of a volcano at sunset. Many thanks!

Power to the city went out for about one hour…only a few businesses actually had a back-up generator and/or candles but everyone seemed to take it in stride.

Beautiful, historic and young student city.
Beautiful, historic and young student city. Wish I stayed longer here! Museum of the Revolution explained the history and context of Leon so well, would highly recommend. Try some street food too like elote! The atmosphere is the city was the nicest in all of Nicaragua.

The old part of town is a quaint colonial place with a lot of restaurant options; I recommend the small food tour offered to see the market and learn about the different fruits and dishes. The location is perfect for a quick visit to the beaches that are less than 30 minutes away, you can catch a taxi easily there.

Cathedral is a trip of its own.
Cathedral is a trip of its own. Walking on the rooftops, and also try to visit the catacombs. Going down the cero Negro volcanoes is fun just a 30 min hike up. Nearby beaches are nice clean not crowded with plenty of activities to do.

Very beautiful. The very best thing about Nicaragua was the People. So kind and amazing.
Other places I visited Backpackers Inn Boutique Hostel in Granada. Lus was amazing. The rooms are beautiful and Quiet. Excellent breakfast.
The staff at La Posada del Doctor was also so wonderful, specifically Melissa, Christian and Christian’s Mother who cooked us a wonderful breakfast.

If you have time, take a day trip to the Flor de Cana Rum Factory, only 45 minutes outside the city to the north. You have to schedule it .
The whole place is very pretty with so many beautiful plants and birds. The cabanas are very beautiful and comfortable. I was surprised they are so cool even without an AC.
The pool is very nice since it's so hot in Leon, and it was very clean.
Fatima is an amazing cook. Make sure to have dinner or lunch there and order from her Taiwanese menu. She puts so much love and creativity in her dishes.
Casa de los Berrios is a true oasis in Leon. Nice, spacious double rooms, big enough singles, each with their private bathrooms, an inviting courtyard to meet other travelers or simply enjoy some down-time, strong wifi, great value for money, free coffee and a short walk into the city. Best of all is the super friendly and tremendously helpful lady running the place. I would definititely come back.
Great hotel right in the center of Leon. It is an old colonial style building with an inner garden where you eat breakfast in the morning. The staff was very attentive and made us welcome right from the beginning. Very tasty breakfast with French baguette and freshly brewed coffee.
Everything was exactly as seen in the pictures.
Parking is at the casino opposite the hotel.
I was looking for a nice, non-party hostal in Leon. Casa Lula was perfect. In addition, they have really nice hamocks in garden and spacious airy kitchen. I really liked the owner, his wife and all the staff. The place is clean and kitchen well equiped. Each bed in a dorm has it´s own fan and locker. Its calm place, convenient location. Loved the place.
Great hostel in Leon! It it slightly away from the busy square so nice & quiet, only a 5 minute walk into the centre. Good kitchen for cooking if needed. Yummy breakfast included in the morning with a variety of options. Various balconies to sit and relax. A small pool but we didn’t use it. Also a cool little outdoor gym on the upstairs terrace!
A very very nice and comfy hostel to just relax in leon, they offer breakfast included and above that the best kitchen i had in my trip. Bed is allso good.

Realy the best hostel in leon to take a break and meat the quite travellers and need to regain their energies.
The hostel had a nice garden courtyard and relaxed vibe to it with a big open air kitchen. The staff were very helpful with helping us book a shuttle to Honduras and in answering all of our questions. The bed was comfortable and we were able to add AC to our room which was great as it’s super hot in Leon.
The hotel is very close to the city center. Wifi is good. The area is very safe. The host is exceptional. My girlfriend was sick and the owner even heard her being sick and in the midde of the night made her a drink to calm her stomach and gave her fresh water and some pills to stop the major pains.

Great location as everything is nearby and walking distance like the main basilica and grocery store and restaurants. The owner is such a sweet and kind lady and I felt like a home. The hotel is very beautiful and kept cleaned.
ViaVia is central to everything touristy in Leon. ViaVia has a pretty cool bar. Volcano Day tours is also located inside the property to help you arrange tours and transfers across Nicaragua.
