The host family was warm, welcoming and inclusive. They shared stories, mezcal, chapolines, and other traditional Oaxacan flavors. The beach, which we had to ourselves most times, had dramatic, thunderous, rolling waves. The property sits right on the beach and is set up with a variety of places to hang out and watch the ocean in comfort. Our faves were the beach hammocks and the infinity pool with built in seating. There is a super cute chapel on a little hill next door.

We couldn't possibly have been happier than this! Casa del Sapo is that rare, elusice thing that for us represents true luxury. While the house is indeed very, very beautiful it is also incredibly well planned, providing everything one needs, while still blending into the actual attraction - the closeness of the mighty sea and the surrounding nature.
We loved just being there - the sound of the waves erasing all the noise one usually has going on in the head - turning our senses to what is here.
Mario will have our eternal thanks for opening this place for guests. Mariela and Fredy, the caretakers, are incredibly nice people as are Lichia and Chichu, who run the little restaurant nearby with the most delicious food.

We loved the location on the beach, very relaxing away from the hustle and bustle. Amazing sunsets. Breakfast is simple, but enough and delicious. Food at the restaurant is absolutely amazing at reasonable price. Attentive staff, clean rooms. Beautiful beach, very clear clean water.

Our stay at Casa Mauna was excellent. The property looks exactly as it does on the pictures and was extremely well kept and maintained. The Vegan food options offered a lot of variety and the portions were ample, this included breakfast which was exceptional. The vibe was very chill and as I was travelling with 2 children so it was nice that the property was small enough that we could all freely and safely be around the rooms/restaurant/pool without needing to stay together the whole time. It was an easy walk down to the beach, which was beautiful and almost deserted. As with most places along the pacific it was not ideal for swimming but you could certainly bob about in the shallower parts. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodated all of our needs.

This is a nice house with an own terrace for each room (if you do not live in the cheap room downstairs where I stayed the night). The beach is a walk of a few minutes away from the casa - just down the steep alleys. It is really a beautiful beach. Don't miss it by night! So the location is great. I also liked the open kitchen between the rooms. The WiFi there was fast and stabile.
