I stayed a few times in Tropicana unfortunately I experienced an unfriendly service at the reception even for that expensive price I experienced a very disrespectful treatment at the reception. Therefore that would’ve been my last booking with them.

It's a nice quiet village without lots of tourist so you can enjoy the authentic experience. There is a direct bus to Valetta for sightseeing and shopping. 10 minutes away is a Smart City - modern complex with some restaurants and fountain show. Locals are friendly. Rocky beaches are nice for diving and swimming.
