We did like the location as it was next to the sea.

The location and facilities of the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz are undoubtedly one of the best on the island. Having said this though, the hotel should ensure that maintenance works are kept up all throughout the hotel even in the rooms. The furniture in the rooms could use some polish and in some instances they could even be changed and modernised further.

The hotel was great and exactly was we wanted. The hotel is in the center of Nadur next to the church. The are two great restaurants attached to the hotel. The Fat Rabbit local food and Del Capo great pizza and burgers and also the breakfast spot. Our room was good with a balcony that had views over most of Gozo. The staff and specially Frankie, front desk manager, were always helpful.

A stay in Mgarr is not the most obvious choice, but being so close to the harbour adds an interesting dimension to the stay. One has access to pleasant country walks, a variety of bars and restaurants, buses from the terminal to most parts of Gozo, car and boat rentals, trips to Comino, ....and the marina is a pleasant point of interest.

This is a hilly area, difficult for the less able, but there is a regular, if not too frequent bus service into Victoria, from where the whole island is accessible. There are so many excellent restaurants in the area. For value for money and quality of food, Giuseppe's Cafe and Bistro is our clear favourite. The Country Terrace, Ferdy's and a lovely little bar on the waterfront, called Il-Luzzu, which serves fantastic breakfasts, are all excellent. The views of the ferry, Comino and Malta are spectacular. There are many interesting villages to visit within a short distance. Mgarr is a great starting point for lots of sightseeing and sunbathing opportunities with terrific architecture on view. Well worth a visit.
