The location was beautiful right opposite the sea with easy access to the rocks and swim spots. Easy walking to the sandy beach if you want a more traditional beach but that was not for us as it was very busy. Shops and a few restaurants in east walk and more variety up the steep hill in the village. Lots of choice and all good

If you want to have a holiday which you'll chill at the beaches, then it could be a good location to stay, you could walk to the nice beaches nearby. Just keep in mind either one of the going or returning routes would be quite steep since it is very hilly. But you could use Uber or Bolt for it, it is not expensive, almost the same price with public transportation.
If you want to visit the cities like Valetta, the distance could be challenging for you. It takes around 1.5 hours to go with the public transportation. In Valetta, the prices in the restaurants are more expensive compared to Mellieha.

It is a good point to start exploring Malta.
It is a good point to start exploring Malta. It is close to Gozo and Comino. We use Uber and Bolt to see the nicest beaches in Malta. We recommend Qarraba Bay and Popeye Cliffs. In July there is too hot.

Mellieha is beautiful and a good location for the beach.
Mellieha is beautiful and a good location for the beach. However, we took day trips to Valletta and Mdina, and in late July it was too hot and sweaty to properly enjoy them. I would recommend Malta in the spring time when it's not so hot because there are lots of nice things to see.

Mellieha is situated in the northern part of Malta and perfectly situated to discover Malta. There's shops and restaurants closeby, even on walking distance if you can stand the heat. Going to Valletta is only a 35min drive and the Gozo ferry is just 10min away. In our opinion a rental car is a must to discover the island on your own pace, although Uber is available everywhere and costs about €35 for a single ride to Valletta. Depending on your plans, the cost to use Uber vs car rental might end up being more or less the same.

Neither the beach or the town is particularly nice, the separation between them means either a hot walk up hill or bus or hire car. The beach has very few refreshment options or other facilities.
The church and WW2 tunnels are interesting but the rest of the town is not attractive. The food in Gems restaurant is great and a wide choice.
Great room with an amazing view of the sea & pool area - very spacious & clean, with daily housekeeping. The food was good with plenty of choice for breakfast & evening meal. All staff seemed to work hard & were always friendly & helpful. Hotel is right next to the ferry terminal for Gozo & you can get trips to the Blue Lagoon from there. Buses stop right outside so there's easy access to other parts of Malta including Valletta & Mdina. Hotel had a nice feel & we enjoyed our stay.
Room was excellent and exceeded some of my expectations. Reception staff on arrival at 1am was really satisfactory and responsive. Breakfast is the highlight of my week in the hotel. Indoor Pool excellent and Location in the centre of the village is good. Malta Public Transport buses to all other areas almost at the hotel door.
Compact, simple but comfortable hotel with beautiful view on Mellieha bay. Calm place but close to the old center of Mellieha with restaurants and buses. Distance to the beach (1km). Good starting point for trips around Malta and on Gozo/Comino. Last but not least - very nice and caring staff.
The landscape near the hotel is very beautiful, but there is not much to do in the evening near the hotel. I stayed there for a night as I was exploring Malta and I happened to be near this place.
Excellent resort in a very beautiful bay in Malta. The private beach is beautiful. Big room with all that you need. Warm pools for the kids. Diverse options of restaurants. Helpful staff.
