A clean and very comfortable holel in the best location in Skopje. 5 mins from central square but in a neighborhood much better, with cute bars and street food as well as shops to find everything you may need. There is no outdoor noise and you feel safe walking around. I actually miss staying there. I had the best time, although I was travelling alone for business.
I will definately stay there again!

Skopje is, well, how can I put this, unusual. The old Ottoman part of town is pleasant, though it cannot compare to Mostar or Sarajevo or even Prizren. The modern city is a collection of vulgar monuments and hideous new builds, all made out of concrete and faced with marble or some other cladding, and all looking pretty tatty without ever having had the dignity of growing old. It has to be seen to be believed. It is iso awful it is almost good. The regime's buildings are not helped by the litter, piles of filth and graffiti everywhere. As for the old buildings, many of them have been over-restored and are effectively replicas of old buildings: this is particularly true of the castle at the top of the hill. I wouldn't say I regret going, and the memory will certainly persist.

Amazing city with a lot of history.
Amazing city with a lot of history. Ulica Macedonia is amazing, with lot of cafes and restaurants. The Old Bazaar offers a glimpse to the history with the Ottoman empire. Lots of monuments from the reach Macedonian history (from Alexander the Great to now). Lots to do if you are an outdoorsy type. You can take the cable car and go to Vodno for some spectacular views and hiking. Canyon Matka is near by with amazing views as well. The nightlife is really good with a lot of choices. The prices are cheaper than the rest of Europe, so you get more for less. I will visit again and will spend more time in Ohrid (Medieval town on a lake, and Kokino (bronze age observatory)..

Skopje is a beutiful city with lots of culture and history, lots of very nice traditional restaurants and some very nice walks. The river Vader runs through the middle of the city. One of the bridges over it is 500 years old! Be sure to visit m vodno mountain. Home of the larges cross in Europe, cable car journey to the top is 1 euro per person, you can see right across the city. Also vodno is good for people hiking or mountain biking. There is plenty of refreshments at the top and lots of areas to relax.

There are many errors in the listing.
There are many errors in the listing. The reception is closed from 10 PM till 8 AM. There is no bar (I don't use anyway). There is no seating area in the room, except for a straight backed chair at the desk. There is no in-house restaurant. The only meal available is breakfast, served at 8 AM. It's not a continental breakfast. There is one set menu: orange juice, omelette, a cheese sandwich, lots of sliced bread and coffee.

Skopje city center still seems to be an undiscovered city...
Skopje city center still seems to be an undiscovered city for many western traveller's and is a must see even for a day or two. It is relatively small, safe and still cheap compared to other cities. The people were all friendly and went out of their way to assist and guide. The city is relatively flat so easy walking and a mixture of new and old architecture. As always construction still taking place in parts.

Absolutly crazy architecture, designed by Polish architects...
Absolutly crazy architecture, designed by Polish architects after disastrous earhquake in 60. Amazing shuk. Great Makedonian wine (my favourites: Bile makedonskie from Stobi and dry white Aleksandria from Tikvesh). Nice, cool, people, speaking English. Friendly town dogs. River bank and parks. Absolutely my favourite capital and country in Europe. Hope Makedonia soon joins EU.
My stay was upgraded to the Solun Hotel and Spa. The hotel was small, quiet, and perfectly located in the city center. There was a nice terrace to enjoy a cool drink. From check in until check out, staff was helpful in every possible way. The breakfast was excellent with many selections that changed each day. Rooms were very clean and had the most comfortable beds. I stayed there twice this summer and both stays more than met expectations. Staff strives to make your stay a memorable experience. And that is good reason to return.
Destination is a little bit far away from city center. Eventhough, to go to city center is not hard.
The breakfeast, hotel , room , cleaning and personels are absolutely awesome. The workers which work there totally perfect , friendly. We chose the get up early to travel all country, and hotel workers got up early for prepare breakfast to us. I am appreciate for this!
If I were stay in Skopje again , I would be rather to make reservation this hotel.
Ви благодарам :)
One of the best experiences in booking the apartment - we arrived to Skopje at 22h only to find previously booked apartment absolutely unacceptable - right away we booked Maya's Place and the owner was willing to wait for us and show us around.
Apartment is huge, with all the amenities you could ask for, situated in 5 mins walking from city center.
Great hosts, helpful in every question we had.
All in all, clear 10+!
The reception was very friendly and welcoming. The owner and his family are super-friendly hosts who helped me with all questions I had and everything I asked for. Albeit not right in the center of Skopje, the hotel is very nicely located, and at relatively equal distance to the centre and Canyon Matka. The area is very quiet. The only reason I cannot comment on the breakfast as I took none. I recommend staying there.
A small hotel located in the old part of Skopje (Charsija), a quiet and peaceful place 15 minutes walk to the business center of the city, but at the same time the historical center is right where the hotel is located. Restaurants, cafes, shops, souvenirs - everything is close by. To the railway station and bus station about 30 minutes on foot. Room was clean, wi-fi is good.
The location was perfect - right in the middle of the city center and attractions. The apartment is in one of the newest and best buildings in center of Skopje with 24 hour security. The building is beautiful and the decor was modern and stylish. The apartment offers great ammenities and was very convenient.
It was perfect experience. I'm sure that this is best hotel in the city. She helped us a lot. I will absolutely choose this hotel if I come back to Shkup again. Clean room, city center, hospitable host, android internet connected tv, free coffee and chocolate. Thanks for everything.
A quiet location close enough to the city center to be walkable, far enough away to be away from the noise and business. The hotel is in the hills above the city in a very nice neighborhood with a lot of houses used by people in the local embassies.
Hotel is located in old center of city. Perfect place to stay and to visit old and new center, everything is so close. Big bonus for this hotel is location (20 meters from walking area) and parking for guests.
Breakfast was also great!
The hotel is located in the city center with easy access to most of the facilities.
The reception staff are very kind and polite😉.
I would recommend this place to anyone who comes to Skopje for business or leisure.
The communication with the staffs was excellent and the facilities and cleanliness too, the hotel is very new and it’s in the center of the old town where everything is accessible within 15 min of walking maximum
The hotel is located in the Skopje center very close to bazar and Makedonia Square. The room was very large and equipped with new electronics. Also has a very nice balcony with an amazing view.
Very good location, very close to the center of Skopje, free parking place in front of hotel, nice helpfull owner.
Good stay for the price! last minute arranged but this was no problem!
The hotel is literally in the center of Skopje, like 20 m from the statue of Alexander.
The hotel has also quite a nice design and the people working there are very kind and helpful.
The hotel is very close to the city center. Virtually every sight can be reached on foot. The rooms are bright and the beds are very comfortable. The staff is personable and helpful.
I feel it's not a 4 star hotel, it's a 5 star hotel
Very beautiful!
Restaurant is amazing!!!! Super fancy!!!
Breakfast is not buffet, but it's very good!
Highly recommend!
